Ok, thanks for confirming I'm not crazy :) Do you think it sounds better than the 9 speaker Alpine setup? I wonder what that package actually includes...just the H/K speakers, and no mods to the amp or radio, or ?
Hi all,
I'm looking at a '22 3500 truck which states it has the "Laramie Package B", which includes the 17 speaker H/K system, but just below that it says 8.4 Uconnect. And in the pictures, it's the smaller screen. I've never seen that combination.....every time I see a H/K equipped truck...
Yup....I figured that out when trying to order a 2500 or 3500. And it seems pretty rare that folks order the rear air suspension at all, which surprises me. It's extremely handy when leveling a heavy trailer.
Edit: I finally talked to a dealer configuration guy. "Rebel Suspension" is just the Bilstiens...that's all. And yeah, a Rebel 2500 is a baby Powerwagon, basically.
Good to hear. I have the air suspension on my Rebel 1500, and I think it's great....especially for towing (levels out the truck nicely, even with WDH). I'm curious...what is your payload rating on your 2500 Rebel? (the yellow/white sticker in the drivers door jam).
I've thought of that. I installed Airlift bags in a previous tow vehicle (FJ Cruiser...much smaller trailer to tow). They worked great and could be inflated with a tiny compact bicycle pump, and the install was pretty easy. But there are a few neat tricks with a factory air suspension...
I'm actually considering the 2500 and 3500. I'm looking at used and new.....we'll see. I'm in discussion with multiple dealers to find what I want (or worsecase, order a new truck with the exact options I want).
Nah, I think you are right about OD/8th gear. I'm thinking about another vehicle I owned with this feature. I'm pretty sure my '16 can hit 8th gear in T/H mode. I do wonder if T/H increases line pressure (ie more fluid circulation). Anyway, I use it when towing.
Thanks...I'll reach out. And yeah....I've noticed how close some used vs new pricing is. It was similar when we bought the Rebel (used) back in 2018, but I couldn't find a new Rebel with the options I wanted (namely 3.92 rear and extended range fuel tank), and I didn't want to wait on an order.
Yeah, I've been doing that, but the auto level rear suspension is damn hard to find, and many times the dealers don't even list it. I have to print up a window sticker from the VIN to find out. It's exhausting. Oh well, I'll just keep trying.
I have some specific options I want in a used Ram 2500, but I'm having a hard time finding the right truck, in the right color, low miles, etc. And the search is exhausting me. Does anyone know a good dealer that will help in the search?
Worsecase.....who would be a good dealer to talk to...
Bill, check your payload rating (yellow/white sticker in the drivers door frame area)....it varies depending on the options on your truck. That will change what your hitch weight can be...plus whatever you load into the truck (you have to include people, tools, etc etc.....every piece of...
Andersen is a good WDH.....I have it also. But my Rebel also has air suspension, so I don't have sag even without the WDH in play. But I definitely need the WDH...no way I'd tow my camper without it.
Tow/haul keeps your transmission cooler by not allowing it to hunt gears as much, and keeping it out of O/D (top gear), which also increases temp. I always use T/H when pulling my camper.
Just noticed my discussion thread got moved to 4th gen Towing and hauling. That's fine, but I originally posted it in the 5th gen group on purpose, as I was looking for 5th gen opinions. Anyway, got the answers I was looking for.
Ok....but did your sticker say "Rebel Suspension" on it? That's what I'm trying to figure out....what does that statement mean? I'd still be ok with payload with the diesel....I don't need that much more payload. The Rebel 1500 also has Bilstein off road shocks (in addition to air...
I'm in a similar boat as you. Currently have a '16 Rebel, which we love, but we bought a new camper and it is pushing us over the payload capacity (our Rebel is fully loaded...sunroof, extended fuel tank etc..so it's heavy).
Couple of questions:
1) What is your payload on the 2500 Rebel? I...
