    Need payload of 5400 Lbs

My 2022 Big Horn 3500DRW/ Crew Cab Long Bed CTD/HO/Aisin 4.10 has a payload of 4847lbs. That's with the 5th wheel prep, hitch, steps, spray in bed liner, 50 gallon fuel tank and all other options as installed at the factory. As you can see all of these eat into the payload quickly. I have a 17K...

    Light Bar/Aux Switches

Theoretically you could take the relay's out as the factory switches run off a relay. I did not because I didn't want to screw up the lights original make up. My switch that came with the lights had a three way switch, middle position lit it up, the other two positions ran either the DRL of the...

You program from the dash evic, it's under commercial then enter four zeros. Should become self explanatory from there but if not ask away :)

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

I feel your pain! Did mine a few months ago, even with the truck on a lift it was still a pain, my next truck will have the factory puck system for sure!

Test drove an '18 Tradesman CTD...

I have an '18' Tradesman 3500 w/6.4 liter Hemi and an 8 foot bed. The truck is a towing beast which was the main reason I bought it. I would love to have the CTD but not in the cards this time. It rides rough except when loaded with my 5th wheel then it rides like a Cadillac, sort of :)...

    Drag Link Recall ... Video

Had mine done today, I lease the truck so figured it was best to do whatever FCA says to do. The service manager said he expects replacement parts in the future but could not predict when!

Towing: Gas vs diesel debate, 1500 & 3500

I tow a 12,500 5th Wheel with the 3500 6.4L SRW and have no issues at all. I would love to have the diesel but the expense was just a bit too much (maybe in a few years). The truck likes to make noise when its pulling but it has no issues keeping 65mph uphill. On my last 125 mile trip I averaged...

First tow, very impressed! Cougar 368MBI, weighs about 13,500 ready for camping. Best tow vehicle I have owned so far!

    5th Wheel w/2018 2500

Correct, and then add the hitch weight, passengers, wood and any other camping stuff! And remember the posted hitch weight is the dry weight, it will be more! For instance my dry pin weight is 1980lbs but ready to camp I'm around 2800lbs. My particular payload is 4100lbs but of course I added...

    5th Wheel w/2018 2500

The RV threads are full of opinions, weight police, laptop lawyers etc. etc. Bottom line is you have to be comfortable with what you are doing. The safety of yourself, your family and everybody on the road. Today's vehicles are very capable, a few years ago they decided to post yellow stickers...

    What can my truck tow?

Not really enough information but you can start here.....https://www.ramtruck.ca/en_dir/pdf/towing_1500.pdf As usual your limiting factor will be the payload capacity. Take a look at your yellow sticker inside the drivers door. That will give you the payload capacity of the truck when it left...

    Thoughts on an older 5er

2007 isn't that old if it was well maintained. Would the dealer be able to send you pictures of the inside, check for water damage. Check the tires for age, the roof for wear etc. I trade in a 13 year old Class C motorhome that was in very good shape, it would be excellent for a young family...

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Installed and tested the Reese 5th Wheel Hitch. The "quick install" took about 6 hours, I'm sure it would be quicker for a pro. Purchased all the hardware from e-trailer, they were helpful with what I needed going from my old Chevy to the new Ram. Trailer is sitting level and the Truck dropped a...

    Towing Milage Update....6.4L / 8,000 trailer / 4000 miles

Interesting write up, thanks. Have not towed with mine yet, but just got back from a trip to North Carolina and back. Got an average of 17.1mpg, I was very impressed. Not expecting anything near that towing my 5th wheel!
