I'm about to pull the trigger on that same exact camera. Did you find out your issue by chance?

    Fuel and air filters - 2016 6.7

Long story short, I wasn’t paying attention and came home with duralast fuel filters from AutoZone (front and back). Should I just throw em on, or return them and order some Mopars? Is it truly that big of a deal? I also need to change my air filter - basically same question, do I need to stick...

Getting ready for my first oil and fuel filters change

I've heard multiple people say that, which is why I'm confused. Normally I'd add the extra 3/4 qt and top it off without even thinking about it, but the whole "add 3 gallons and forget about it" seems to be a common motif. Whatever, I'll grab an extra qt and keep and eye on it. Curious to see...

Getting ready for my first oil and fuel filters change

Checked it again, on a slight uphill and it was perfect. So I moved it back to level ground and it barely registered on the stick again. Let it sit for 10 minutes and tried again, this time it was in the safe zone, but still saying 3/4 qts low (assuming the bottom of the safe zone to the top is...

Getting ready for my first oil and fuel filters change

Yes, the plugs back in lol. When I was 16, my 3rd oil change ever, I forgot to put the new filter on. That oil stain is still in my parents garage lol. Anyways, just finished the fuel filters and got everything cleaned up. I'll take a look at it again later or tomorrow.

Getting ready for my first oil and fuel filters change

Just changed the oil, getting ready to do the fuel. Everything I saw and read says 3 gallons, just use all 3 gallons and you're ready to go. Well, after letting it run for a few minutes and shutting it off it's not even showing on the dip stick. What's going on?

Getting ready for my first oil and fuel filters change

Getting ready to do my first oil and fuel filter changes. Just wanted to see if I'm missing anything obvious. I'm going to stick with Mopar filters, sounds like that is a good route to go. These seem reasonable and have good reviews - any reason I shouldn't pull the trigger on this...

    Thoughts on an older 5er

I just bought a 1995 5th wheel, and I had issues with the height of the 5th in relation to the truck bed. I had about 1" of clearance and had to flip the axles, which I now have about 6 - 7 inches. Not sure when 5ths started getting taller, but may be something to think about especially since...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Yeah I was very impressed as well. I had hills with lots of turns and pulling up them was effortless, but I was most impressed with how the truck acted going down the hills and how the transmission and exhaust brake worked together to maintain 55mph going down hill, barely had to even touch the...

Weird "static-y buzz" and then 5.0 uconnect turned off

I have a 2016 2500 with the 5.0 uconnect and today I heard a weird noise like a static-y buzz, almost like feedback - never heard anything like it before, happened maybe a dozen times over a couple minutes and then my stereo turned off completely while driving. It was off for about 30 seconds...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Towed it about 100mi road trip, just got back, and it seems to just be that stretch of highway that I live on. Once I got off that it felt much better. Like I said before I get some bounce in the truck with no trailer at a certain speed, so I think the waves in that particular stretch matches...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Looks good. I got the kit that bolts on also and it was still a pain! I dont even know how you would drill the holes, it was hard enough turning the bolts (on the drivers side anyways) - well worth the extra $80 or $100 whatever it was. Question: it looks like your 5th is around the same size...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Finished up the axle flip and what a pain in the ass that was. Not all that difficult necessarily, but jacking the thing up was a shit show and comprised about half the time spent. Absolutely no good place to Jack from, and felt sketchy as hell. Anyways, the math says I should have 6" of lift...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Got the 5th delivered last week and hitch installed this weekend. I'm not too concerned with my initial worries, but I obviously need to lift the 5th. Here's a couple pictures with the hitch forward and back. My driveway isnt perfectly flat so it was pitched slightly with one side (the side...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Probably, once I get the 5th here and hitch installed I'm suspecting I'll have to do some more research to see what my options are with blocks, springs or subframe lift. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not overly optimistic.

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

My truck is a 2016 Cummins and it seems to sit pretty high stock. Not sure how it compares to the 97 model. At the end of the day, I just need to get it here, install the hitch, and see where it all lies and go from there. Your 5th looks very similar in size, style and pin box configuration as...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Thats my understanding, but I've heard that people have hit their beds when the truck and 5th are on different incline planes, which is what I'm worried about because of the creek crossings I have to go through (which most people wouldn't have to deal with under normal driving conditions - other...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Thanks. I'm going to take more measurements in the morning, but I think I will be fine slid back. The short bed, plus 12inches of slide backwards and my king pin is 6 to 10 inches in front of the front of the trailer, I probably won't really have much trailer above the bed anyways. My hitch can...

5th wheel with short bed - a little worried

Hey Everyone, I know 5th wheel topics get brought up all the time, so apologies for starting another one. I have a 2016 2500 Cummins SB and I just bought my first fifth wheel. Its an older model with a square front, no taper. I bought a Curt E16 sliding hitch. To get to/from my house, I have...

School me on 5th wheel hitches

Thanks for the response. I will try an RV board - good idea. If you dont mind a couple follow up questions, do you have a manual slide or auto slide? Do you have to slide it any time other than when parking or abnormal road conditions - for example if you're driving through town and have to turn...
