Could this be the tick culprit?

I don't have that year model truck so I don't have the lifter tick myself, but a couple of buddies that do have it swear by that Rev X oil additive. You'd have to really love the stuff to buy it all the time. It's like 30 bucks at my Napa. Too rich for my blood, for 4oz of whatever it is, but...

New front pads, caliper seals, rotors, and bearings.

    Rear diff gasket or not.?

Just did mine a week or so ago. It had the sealant and I went back with a gasket. So far so good, but I'm going to put a mag-hytec cover on soon, which has a reusable rubber gasket built in, which is by far the best, IMO.

    Transmission Temp Sensor

You may wanna try westach.com . They have some slick two gauges in one that you may like better, plus all the couplings you'll need. Here's what some of them look like. This is an oil temp & psi, but they can do dual temps or whatever combo you want.

    Rockford Fosgate 8 inch sub

For anybody that has seen Rockford Fosgate PS-8 and may be interested this small powered sub, I can tell you it is a great little sub and fits under the middle of the front seat. If you're looking for gut wrenching, boomy bass this isn't the one you want, but it's powerful and compact and the...

Best place to put the sending unit for transmission temp gauge

I like the pan route too. That's the temp of the fluid that is fixing to be pumped through the trans, but if the tranny was starting to overheat would it be better to see the temp when it comes out of the tranny? I just don't know. And I'm going to get a mag-hytec pan and it has a sender bung...

Best place to put the sending unit for transmission temp gauge

I know there is disagreement about what the best place is for the sending unit, but I'm hoping that there is a place that it will just screw into for simplicity and to ensure a good seal. Anybody done it?

    Gator back style Belts.

Just a thought but the last time I replaced my belt, Napa sold me one they said is used for racing and really high output motors. It's green. Looked a little weird at first, but now it's almost black. It's the quietest belt I've ever had and never slips.

    Longer Oil Filter?

Thanks guys. I just have to check and see how much room I have. It's a little crowded down there.

    Longer Oil Filter?

Has anyone tried using a longer oil filter to increase the amount of oil they can put in their motor? I use Baldwin filters and the B34 is the replacement filter for my '96. Baldwin lists the B2 as the related filter that is the same, only longer. If the legnth will fit, I'm gonna try it out...

    Crank position sensor replacement...

Thanks fellas! It seems like what I saw back there was one allen type screw and one regular like 1/2" type. I'm gonna give it a go and see if I can not lose my mind during

    Crank position sensor replacement...

Has anyone attempted to change the crank position sensor? My '96 1500 5.9 sensor is on the passenger side between the engine rear and the firewall. I can barely even get a glimpse of it with a mirror and flashlight and still haven't been able to trace the wires all the way to where it plugs...

    Synthetic Oil

Kendall GT1 Max full synthetic is my favorite oil and has been for years. I use Kendall synthetic tranny fluid and gear oil too. Kendall is made by Phillips 66 and I'd put it up against any synthetic oil out there. And the place I buy it from is: kendallmotoroils.com . They have free...

    Which wheels work

Does anyone know which, if any, of the factory wheels from later model trucks, like the 20", would work on a 2nd gen 1500 2wd?
