Gear (Whine) Noise above 57 mph
My rear whines at exactly 60 mph and above (on throttle). Quite audiable over the radio. Dealer drove and says that's normal. "Some of the HD trucks do that" was their response. Yeah, sure. No other HD truck I've owned did. Does sound like it is more forward but it is the rear diff. I'll run it...- Ole 340

Why are there so few 6’4 long beds out there?
Yours is setup and chromed very similar to mine. That was a steal of a deal, right place and time. They found mine out of state as well. 8' bed is a must for some of us. Got the 373 gears, had to take what I could find. Too tall a gear for that overdrive ratio, no idea why they even offer it...- Ole 340

Why are there so few 6’4 long beds out there?
Those old wagons served their purpose. Can recall my dad's with as many as nine of us riding. Kids facing the back. Not much for handling but a smooth ride. That 1968 Impale wagon would roll along well enough. 327, 325 HP rated the old way. They were all through my extended family in the 60's...- Ole 340

Towing capacity
I would not have been a good source of advice for towing as a young man. Had a 5,500 lb. boat and tandem axle trailer combo behind a D50 ram with a 2.6 motor, 2wd. Welded the bumper, threw a ball on it and went. Nearly every summer weekend for (2) years. Towed the same setup for many more years...- Ole 340

No gas cap??
Well maybe okay on a diesel. Gas though, hope not? Hope I never find out but I'd hate to be on my lid with that being responsible to retain fuel. What we call progress these days is a bit unusual. -

7 weeks and 2500 miles 6.4 fuel economy
Usual variance for me is just under 2 mpg. Once or twice it was about . 5 to .7 off. 10 to 13 is average hand calculated. EVIC since new reads 14.9 TO 15. Maybe 12.4 over that duration actual. That seems more optimistic than my tank to tank variance for some reason. Post 5 nailed it with...- Ole 340

Rear End Whine
I did a customer survey and advised my whine comes on at 60 mph sharp under ltight to moderate throttle. Dealer says normal of course. Better mpg
MDS is just cylinder deactivation. It will not change your RPM. on my 2017 Tradesman 6.4 when the ECO light is on, it's in MDS. Some have said the ECO light and MDS are not synchronized on their trucks. They are or surely seem to be on mine. I don't feel it go in (coasting on nearly so...- Ole 340

6.4 Hemi Gear Swap
Reading here you guys are doing the same thing I did with a 2WD 1985 F-150 straight 6. Been awhile so don't recall exactly the ratios but about 300 to 373. Truck ran rather better and better milage. Agreed on the 373 in the 6.4 being to high gearing. Between that 6th gear ratio and the anchor...- Ole 340
