I won’t purchase anything chrome as it just doesn’t last like the old stuff from the 50’s did. That’s why I purchased a Sport. Get rid of the cheap chrome.
Yes Canadian Model as I found out there is a difference. Luckily a fellow 2014 RAM 1500 owner to the south of me in Washington state purchased a used CDN truck and performed the Uconnect update. He has the same unit part number and still had the Zip file.thanks to him I was able to successfully...
It gets even more complicated. They will let you purchase the map update but when you go to activate they need the VIN, the FW version (has to be the latest and greatest) along with a request code in the system info on the unit you will install the map update.
Thats’s when it will say yes or...
Ryan is an outstanding Mopar tuner. He tuned my non stock 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T and I am extremely impressed with his extensive knowledge and tuning abilities. I highly recommend Ryan.
Hi Neighbour! Would you still happen to have the update files? If either yourself or @30below still have the files it would be a huge help. There is also a thread on here where the Uconnect files and versions are kept for other users unable to obtain a Uconnect update...
Given the part number I will hold off on the the update then. Mine is a 2014 Ram 1500 Sport in Canada. On my 2016 Jeep SRT8 the downloaded update has NAFTA on the end of the ZIP file.
Anyway it looks like a trip to the dealership then.
I just gotta say this thread is awesome and helps out a lot of people. Thank you for putting this together
I need to update my 2014 8.4AN VP4NA (part No 68224537AE) as uConnect states I'm up to date (never been updated) and I only found out that I didn't have the latest FW version...
You're lucky, What version are you at now? Once uConnect thinks you have updated there's no redo of going back or trying again. Someone could have used my VIN to download the update as all the VIN's are published online on a few sites.
It’s an easy test without tools. The engine decel causes vacuum through the valve seals pulling oil in if they are leaking which will result in smoke upon acceleration immediately afterward. Its a proven method if you can do it. A compression test of each cylinder would be a given for the piston...
I have a 99 5.9, if its the valve seals find a road with a steep hill to drive down and let the engine do the braking. Shift down a gear helps but obviously don’t over rev the engine. The longer the hill the better. Once at the bottom up shift and step on it. If she blows smoke is the valve seals.
Hello all and greetings from Vancouver BC.
I have a 2014 Ram Sport 4x4 with a 6" BDS lift and have been enjoying it since 2015. I have periodically checked uConnect download site for updates (we don't have over the air updates in Canada). I punch in my VIN and it always spits back with "You are...
