    Yes, that is the location of the C-clip. Does the bearing position look right? I might be able to push it in a little further but the steering housing fits tightly to the other parts of the column. Is there supposed to be another C-clip? I saw another groove in the shaft close to the spring but...

    I have tried pulling by hand with the wheel nut didn't budge. I still have the puller kit. Not sure if there is a way to use it to get the C-clip back on.

    I am hoping someone out there has replaced one of these on a standard non-tilt steering. Everything was going well to this point in pic. Putting it back together the same way but the slot for the C-clip is now hidden by the bearing. Is there a way to pull it back out to get the C-clip on?
