Aftermarket head unit with Alpine speaker system

Thanks @emjohn4, i'll have a look at the iData kit you have mentioned. Looks like we went for similar head units. The amp is in the drivers footwell, I was trying to work out the connections to it earlier when I found I had no sound. My truck is an American import, so LHD.

Aftermarket head unit with Alpine speaker system

I have kind of backed myself in to a corner, but the factory head unit was beginning to get on my nerves. I had the 430 REN so no NAV, USB port only to add media to the hard drive and no streaming by Bluetooth. The raido stations I listen to are on even frequencies like 102.0 so the radio...

Aftermarket head unit with Alpine speaker system

Thanks for the comments guys. After hours of searching I found some "instructions" on how to do it. So today I pressed ahead and connected everything up. Microphone, GPS, Reverse feed and digital radio all connected and working. But you've guessed it, no sound!! How does the factory head...

Aftermarket head unit with Alpine speaker system

I have just bought an aftermarket head unit, and went to install it. Long story short, because I have the Alpine system I only have rear speaker wires. I then have the white connector that has audi and video wires. Can anyone help with how I go about connecting things up. I've spent all day...

    Separate brake and turn signal

My OBDLink arrived yesterday so I thought I would have a go at disabling the combined rear lights. I decided to use Appcar DiagFCA instead of AlfaOBD, purely because it looked the easier to use as I have not used anything like this before. I also have AlfaOBD demo and might still get the full...

    Aftermarket Radio Suggestions

Yes, you do take bluetooth for granted when you have it. I've not really considered set up as I already have bluetooth so would just look to connect existing set up. I'll probably change the head unit at the same time as adding a rear camera so as well as getting it to fit in the dash that...

    Aftermarket Radio Suggestions

I keep looking at this Alpine head unit. I have the Alpine speaker system so in my head it will look a little less aftermarket. It doesn't have Nav or able to play CDs but it has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay so I can use Nav from my phone and music stored on my phone or streamed with...

    Separate brake and turn signal

Yes, I've seen these, it is the same as the curt modules mentioned earlier. I don't know why but I have a bit of a reluctance to use modules like this. If I dont have any luck with the AlfaOBD I might have to use one whether I want to or not.

    Separate brake and turn signal

Thank you so much for your help. I guess I better invest in AlfaOBD and an OBDlink and see if I can get it to work.

    Separate brake and turn signal

That makes sense for the brake and multi switch. I found this in relation to chassis cab rams http://www.rambodybuilder.com/2009/docs/dcdm/dcdmextlitmod.pdf#[0,{%22name%22:%22FitH%22},759] Separated Rear Tail Lighting by Hirst posted Apr 4, 2020 at 11:30 AM Do you think this is what AlfaOBD...

    Separate brake and turn signal

I am in the UK and here we have to have yellow/amber turn signal lights, we can't have red. We do this by fitting a new reverse light, in my case hanging under truck bed, then using the reverse section of the tail light with yellow bulbs for the turn signal and retain the tail light and brake...

    Separate brake and turn signal

I have a 2009 1500 and need to split the brake and turn signals. From searching all over to find out how to do this I keep seeing that the signals get joined in the multifunction switch. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the connectors that plug in to the brake switch and the multifunction...

    Tail light connector and pigtail

I think you might be right, the Aptiv connector might be the easiest option. Thank you for your help.

    Tail light connector and pigtail

To give a bit more background, I am in the UK and we have to convert the rear lights to be legal here. Long story short, the rear and brake light remain the same in the large red section, indicators are changed to be in the clear (reverse) section using yellow bulbs and we hang a separte new...

    Tail light connector and pigtail

I see you mention LED conversion. I don't have LEDs and am tyring to sort out a mess of wiring. Am i looking for the wrong part? The connector I need is the one that the bulb connector plugs in to. I am using normal halogen bulbs.

    Tail light connector and pigtail

Thanks, just had a look at those. Yes, the trailer set up is expensive to just use the connector. The Aptiv part is the kind of thing I am trying to avoid as I am rectifying these kind of "adaptations" that a previous owner has made that is causing strange electrical behaviour with my lights...

    Tail light connector and pigtail

Does anyone know where I can get this connector with pigtail please. The square one not the bulb socket. 20190911_184444 by Hirst posted Sep 15, 2019 at 7:19 PM
