Got spotted today by someone in our local club and noticed I had a tail light out. Anyone run into this? What could cause the whole LED relay to go out? Pretty sure both tail lights are on a single fuse, not one each.
Because time and time again people recommend them. They should not even be an option. The EGR design is bad enough on our trucks, so let's just go ahead and over-fuel them as well.
Just wanted to give a shout out to these gents and to spread some information.
Seems a few people here see pedal commander or other box tunes as a viable option for inexpensive tuning. I'd steer people away from these for a multitude of reasons. Overfueling is NOT tuning properly.
I purchased...
I purchased these lights and they are plenty bright but there is a slight issue;
It was stated that the demon eye function was on a switch back from the headlights. It is not.
I wired the demon eye LED to an aux fuse, but when I turn my headlights on, the colored LED and the white LED are both on.
Something seems odd about y'alls recall repair time frame. I took mine in this morning and was asking about specifics. They stated the update included a regen which would take two hours alone.
Thanks for the report.
I actually had my Jasper transmission for my cummins put in by a shop near you "Low Country Diesel" Pretty cool guys from what I remember.
Just posting factual information man, would hate for someone to buy this thinking it was a great solution based on a members recommendation, just to damage their cylinder walls.
"runs better" is an opinion though. The FACT is that it's not good for your emissions, injectors, cylinder walls, or heads to over-fuel.
Just because it has more bottom end torque and speed does not mean it "runs better" It just means it has a quicker 0-60 but the means of getting that improved...
Lol You should do some research my friend. Run a datalogger with the pedal commander installed. It LITTERALLY just floods fuel earlier so it makes it SEEM like there's less turbo lag when really the exhaust gases just get out faster to spin the turbo earlier.
it does NOT make your truck run...
annnnnd this is the reason I would never recommend or use pedal commander or any box tuner like it.
Never ever is just dumping more initial fuel a good way to get more performance out of a diesel.
Yeah I did, seems cool. I guess it would be a good way to cut down turbo lag but again, why not get into a tuned cummins at that point :P Seems like a cool hobbyist type mod, not something I'd do for functionality.
