    Maybe time to sell?

OK , Guys. Just got back from the hospital and my confirmation visit with my oncologist. Turns out I have what’s called a multiple myeloma which means I have a disease in my white blood cells. On paper it’s not as solid a diagnosis as ‘conventional’ cancers but the fact that it’s in the blood...

    Maybe time to sell?

Hey, slo. I ran my truck through Carvana and Vroom twice and gotten offers within 30 seconds. Also never heard from any other follow ups.

    Maybe time to sell?

Thanks, Burla. Believe me, I’ve been a truck guy since 1972 and don’t think I haven’t owned one for more than a few weeks. Gassers, diesels, half, 3/4 tons and duallies. I love the ability to go to HD and pick up the project stuff. I’m realizing that at my advancing age and decreased health...

    Maybe time to sell?

Thanks for all that, Guys. I’m going to recheck the price and probably sell. My brother just got a callback from Vroom and they upped their offer on his ‘19 F150 by over $1400. Right now I’m going to the hospital 5 days a week for radiation and today was the first day I sat in my truck in 3...

    Maybe time to sell?

Hey, Guys. I’ve got my ‘17 Express Quad Cab, Hemi, 4x4, 3.92’s, with about 41 k on it. It’s about a 9.5 in condition. It’s a truck I haven’t used a lot lately because I put an old Jeep my wife owns back on the road. I’m getting offers of 28,500-29,000 for the rig right now from Carvana and...

Anybody ever have a brake pad fall out ?

From the look of that pad there’s no question you should be putting calipers in.

    18" 1500 Brake squeak

I never did, either, until I moved to the mountains of NC. Our road to home is 5-6 miles of dirt road. The front wheels stir up huge dust clouds depending on temperature and the rears have to follow through that. Usually when I get home I look at the back rims and they have dirt sitting in all...

Trying to purchase this PW - curious if anyone knows it?

I’d also recommend walking away but just want to say that Carfax also has it’s issues. Big issues.

    Comfortable Towing Capacity

jh, I just noticed that your 2500 is a Cummins. Is that coils or does the diesel go with leafs?

    Comfortable Towing Capacity

jhjohnstone, you’re saying you went from a 1500 to a 2500 and only picked up 500 pounds payload? I know the 2500’s I’ve seen are coils but I assumed they had more beef than that?

    Jump starters

For gas rigs the DeWalt jump box works great. Started my truck when a higher capacity name brand wouldn’t.

    Dealing with the salt.

My ‘17 Express is my first Ram but I’ve noticed for 20 years that an awful lot of these trucks have the rear wheel arches rotted out on 4-5 year old rigs. I don’t see that cancer on Fords and Chevys.

    Disappointing Incentives

The Sprinter is a bad vehicle to compare with all other trucks, I’ll admit. Conversion companies scoop them up like crazy and people stand in line to pay above MSRP for 4x4’s.

    Disappointing Incentives

That’s why I mentioned Sprinter. Believe it or not, there are still 2019’s coming off the car carrier today as brand new vehicles and they’re priced side by side with the 2020’s.

    Disappointing Incentives

That sounds good at face value but did you ask what the truck would cost out the door without the 0% ? For me the zero financing always had a big sticker.

    Disappointing Incentives

I assume you mean the 0% part. Every dealer I’ve ever talked to has offered 0% or 4 or 5 thousand off the price. That’s pretty simple math. The latest was only a few weeks ago on a 2019 Sprinter van.

I hope everyone realizes 0 % financing really costs you thousands. The only things truly free are college education, iPhones and health care.

Why are manufacturers still putting chrome on trucks?

I have an Express and wish I had chrome bumpers. Mainly because I’d like to add tow hooks and that plastic front end won’t take a broken tow strap. So I should just say I prefer metal bumpers. Problem with all the trucks is if you just want a certain option you end up having to buy a ‘chrome’...
