    Tuned *and* deleted?

I bought a ‘16 2500 6.7HD, and it came (to me) “fully deleted”, and it has a five position rotary switch/knob - supposedly for a tuner. First let me say, twiddling the knob produces no apparent changes in mileage or performance. Second, I always thought that the tuners acted primarily on the...

    Pillar wire routing?

Good day crew! I just purchased an iDash monitor and pillar mount from Banks for my 2016 6.7 2500. My question today is HOW do I route the cables up next to the pillar grab handle? Do I temporarily remove the grab piece or do I come in from the side somehow? There has to be a way to sneak...

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

I can commiserate. After all the research and poking around with an o’scope, I can concur that the majority of the RF noise is directly caused by the unshielded injectors firing and slapping back. If you look under the cover, you will see each injector being controlled by a pair of wires - not...

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

More digging. From an article I found - With the use of high pressure injectors it takes a 100V pulse to actually fire the injector. There is also some back EMF from the solenoids as the pulse ends and the solenoid opens. Unfortunately the diodes to clamp the back EMF are usually located...

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

Done all this. Thanks. Still searching for cause.

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

Update: The chassis/engine grounding appears functional at all points. Now I’m wondering about the acceleration pedal circuit, and wondering if I’m seeing (hearing) PWM noise. (Pulse width modulation). I’ve got some time coming up this weekend with a spectrum analyzer, probes, small shielded...

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

Good luck on the test. Glad to have another brother in radio.

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

Oh. Should have said. This is almost like an ignition static, but being the Cummins it can’t be ignition.

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

I’m already way past doing this stuff.

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

I’ve got the 7100 led to a lil’ Tarheel 2 on the bedrail using a grounded Breedlove mount. I’ve also got a 5100 installed as well going to a 5/8th wave on the other bedrail also on a Breedlove mount. Overkill, but it works well for me. 20 meters seems to be the most affected with the static...

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) fix needed

I’ve got some crazy radio interference happening while the accelerator pedal is being pressed on my ‘16 Cummins. The radio is a high dollar rig (Icom IC7100) and I’ve installed it using filters ferrites on both antenna coax and power input, yet the RFI persists. I’m quite sure that it’s not an...

    Exhaust tip

My ‘16 Cummins 2500 is already fully deleted and more than once been told that I should put a big exhaust tip on. C’mon. Does this actually DO anything positive for the performance or is it just a “mine is bigger than yours” thing?

Upgrading Alternator will Save Money? Now With Curve Charts!

What about keeping the same alternator and just changing to an overdrive pulley? Lower engine rpm but faster alternator rpm. Probably fine for low rev diesel but for gas?

    Max current from accessory side?

Well aware, but no. The current requirement here is intermittent and continuous running isn’t necessary. I have a secondary 50ah LiFePo4 battery behind the seat as kind of an UPS anyway. Worked on Motorola gear for years. I just wish I had this technology back then.

So, guess I’ll yank one out and compare?

    T20 sunglasses pocket screws

I’m hoping someone can tell me what thread size I’m looking for. These are the two T20 Torx-head screws that hold the top of the radio trim on and they’re hiding under the little rubber mat. Are these M4? I’ve gotta find longer ones so I can screw a cover plate over this pocket and mount a...

    Creative Ham Radio Mounts

Got to find some longer Torx T20 screws for that sunglasses pocket on the top of the dash. I’m going to cut a plate to cover it and mount a Ram Mount track up there. First - figure out what size screw is in there now. Doing it this way so it’s reversible to OEM come time to sell. Rigs going...

    Max current from accessory side?

I’m running (currently [no pun intended]) an Icom IC-7100 along with an ID-5100… because I want everything. The current draw is for a planned linear install after. I’ve got the HF and VHF/UHF antennas on the bedrails done. An extra run of RG8X goes back to terminate above the 5th wheel...

    Max current from accessory side?

I’m planning out my install of the ham radios on paper first and an wondering if I can pull 20 amps switched somewhere? Many law enforcement radios routinely suck large amounts of current, so it’s not without precedent that high-power radios are installed in Mopar. It seems more likely that...

Does anyone know what these are for?

My two cents. Looks like the insulation for antenna ball mounts

    Fuel water warning light

If I disconnected BOTH sensor wires, front and rear, and still have my WIF light on, what’s next? WD40 sprayed all over the harness to displace any residual water. I’m stumped.

AlphaOBD and DTE correction for 51 gal Tank Mod

I put in the S&B 52 gallon tank and the Fleece in tank pump. I also swapped to the Black Market Performance spin-on fuel filters/separators. I’ve got a OBDLinkMX+ Bluetooth plug and hopefully it’ll work for programming.

AlphaOBD and DTE correction for 51 gal Tank Mod

I installed the S&B 52 gallon tank and since it was a new install, I put the Fleece pump in at the same time. Also put in the Black Market Performance fuel filter changeover kits in. Now that that has been done, I’ve got to tackle the programming. All the AlfaOBD stuff I see here looks like...

Is Upgrading To Factory Navigation Worth It?

So as I have a 2016, how difficult is it to put in the new 8.4 radio? Seems CarPlay is the smart move here.
