I used a combination of half Mopar and half ZF fluid for my last fluid change. The truck has been running flawless and it's 278K on the original transmission right now
Yes they would, but they would make a lowball offer and I wouldn't blame them. They are in the business to make money.
Back to the topic: the best bet is to put a rebuilt engine in it and keep the truck at least until the reman. engine's warranty runs out. In today's crazy used market it...
Yes, after owning the truck for 2 years, they've become a PITA while parking, my garage is relatively narrow.
I think I'll go with them, the pair is about $200 on Ebay. What could get wrong?
Hey all, I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Tradesman with the towing package, hence it's got power towing mirrors with defrost, puddle lights and turn signals.
Needless to say they're all beat up, the turn signals don't work anymore and the RH mirror had one of the plastic covers fell off and got some...
I'd go with the 5th gen. IMHO, the new body style + higher spec (Big Horn > Express) would justify the $5K difference

You can't go wrong with that setup. My truck has an aftermarket headunit but no amp and they still kick really nice

I'll say there are decent sounding I-6 as well. Even a good ol' 300 CID Ford or Slant 6 provide good enough rumble with an aftermarket exhaust, 4.0 AMC, S54 BMW just to name a few.
I'd never pretend I could get V8 levels of rumble out of my Pentastar and definitely not aiming for that.
Maybe...
This is the tire size I want to do next on my Ram with stock 17x7" 5 spoke wheels. The 255/75/R17 I own right now aren't noticeably taller than the stock 265/70/R17.

I don't like the exhaust sound of my Pentastar. And I've seen plenty of videos showing no improvements with an aftermarket exhaust so I wouldn't even try getting one. Yeah I should've known what I was getting into beforehand but fuel economy makes up for that.
I also dislike that I need to...
Well, there is an aluminum transmission pan which is a relatively popular option out there, I'm not sure it would have fared better in your situation, though.

Is it 2WD or 4WD?
Other than having a frame inspection for damage I would make sure the trans fluid and pan has been replaced at least once, the exhaust manifold bolts are in good shape or better yet, have been replaced recently. Also have a look at the tires. If they have over half thread then...
I swapped my polyurethane steering wheel with a leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls on my 2014 Tradesman and it's been a joy to use for the last 12 months. It had a couple nicks that I fixed with some 1000 grit sandpaper and filled those nicks with super glue (or some plastic body...
295 70 R17 or 285 75 R17 would be my choice considering they are about 1" narrower than 35 x 12.5 width tires which can rub on the fender liner

My experience is if you feel like wanting more HP and torque you can always get a tune or quick add ons to get some more. Yes I'm talking about the 6.4.
It's a tried and true engine dating back to the GC SRT8, Charger and Challenger SRT 8. No big issues that I've heard of.
But you'll never be...
Have added a couple Nilight 5" LED pods behind the grille and replaced some dull "100W" H9 bulbs with Hella Optilux H9 65W white bulbs.

Both sizes would fit alright. 275 65 R20 looks to be a more common upgrade and slightly cheaper but 285 60 R20 would also fit w/o rubbing the control arms.
For the record the Ram Rebel comes with 285 width tires from factory and that's the widest stock tire fit on a Ram. That would be the...
This could apply to my Ram as well but I was willing to give it a try. I saw another post last week were the OP had a couple 4" LED pods on the grille to pair with a couple 7" pods the OP already had on his truck. The only difference was the OP could screw his pods to the grille itself from...
I've got the same bumper but it's even worse since I have a Tradesman without fog lights. Not sure I'd go with the cutout on the bumper but I ordered a pair of 5" 72W LED yellow fog lights and will put them behind the grille. I may get a couple shelf brackets from a HW store and attach those to...
Nice post. I think I'll take that route with my truck. Mine doesn't come with OEM fog lights and would benefit from the yellow pods.
How long does it take to do the full wiring considering I don't have any aftermarket fog lights?
Do the pods stay firm when going through rough roads?

Hard way to fin the truth, but being honest that's how most OEMs are doing business nowadays. Most chrome wheels are now claded plastichrome on top of the steel/aluminum.
PS. Good to know the shop is taking responsibility on this.
