    5th Gen as towed vehicle.

2003F350 covered it pretty well. It sounds like a lot, but in only takes a few minutes to hook everything up to tow. The complete package isn't cheap, but I am happier knowing when I'm towing the car, it is done right. I did a quick look, and the braking system has a section on installs on...

    5th Gen as towed vehicle.

I flat two a Chevy Equinox behind a Class A. In looking at what was required, there are several states that require the towed vehicle to have it's own braking. There are mechanical systems that looked like a PITA to have to set up each time you towed that we avoided. We went with a product...

Fifth Wheels By Keystone For 1500

These strings are always entertaining. Before we traded the 5er in on the coach, was running a heavy trailer and had to look hard to find a truck spec that did what I wanted, with the creature comforts I wanted as well. The 20% on the pin is very optimistic. Pin was 24% of trailer. Both...

    Diesel question

The only complaint I had on the Aisin was the shift point between 2 and 3 gear. It was a little harsh, especially if trying to accelerate hard at the same time as the shift. Otherwise, the truck was a beast.

Warranty Argument over Bad Battery Pack - 2019 Ram eTorque

I had a 2019 Laramie with the eTorque. I had low voltage faults on a few occasions. It would just come up with a battery indicator while driving. What I found was shutting it off and giving it a few minutes (about the time it takes to refuel) would often get it to reset and start charging...

    Suspension Upgrade

Yes, talking about a dually No, a car won't suffice as I need to tow a 5th wheel. Need to maintain payload capacity as this setup is running 26,*** lbs combined Looking at better ride unloaded without destroying the rock solid towing I have now. No air ride on the truck currently. Straight stock...

    Suspension Upgrade

Looking into potential options to improve the ride quality on the 3500 without sacrificing the payload / tow capabilities. The stock truck is great for what I need, except it is aggravating my wife's bad back. We came across a video talking about the Kelderman 4 pt air suspension, but most of...

    Broken in Half?

I don't disagree that this truck does not have 7800 lbs of payload, but the 4190 payload is the SRW truck. With a DRW, GVWR goes up to 14,000 lbs. Part of that extra 2300 lbs over the SRW goes into the heavier axle, tires, etc., but you do get more payload. Mine has 5256 payload on the door...

    Tire Recommendations

Starting to look at tire options to plan ahead before I have to do something. Currently running the stock Nexan tires that came from the factory and am over 18k with no problems so far. Truck is a '22 3500 DRW CTD HO Aisin 4.10. I am full time pulling a 5th wheel, and running on the heavy...

    2022 CTD Injection System Failure

OEM filters I was super lazy and had the stealership change them while they were replacing a faulty speed sensor under warranty.

    2022 CTD Injection System Failure

I was able to get a dealer to read the code, and clear out the register a few days after I posted the original message. There was a single instance in the register that matched the date showing in the app. It has not reoccurred. Nothing was changed or adjusted. Fuel35 67 commented on the...

    RV hauler bed

I haven't, but curious how this bed option would work with things like back up camera, cargo camera, surround view cameras, and object detection sensors. Anyone know if the cameras and sensors can be remounted on this type of bed and re-programed to be effective?

2022 Ram 3500 Limited Bed Step Install

I'm looking at getting a bed step on mine. Sounds like either the AMP or the MOPAR are good options. Is the fit the same on a DRW as a SRW? The MOPAR site doesn't ask which you have when sorting for accessories, so thinking it doesn't matter. Just want to be sure so I don't have to deal with...

    3500 DRW or SRW?

Not sure which trailer you are looking at, but I just bought a 41' 5th wheel that has a dry weight around 13k, GVWR of 16,900, and comes with a office and built in desk. It has been working pretty great for me. Montana 3855BR. There is a Montana High Country with a very similar plan that we...

    2022 CTD Injection System Failure

I had an engine warning lamp come on a couple days ago. Solid amber light, no other indications. Had no way to get it serviced immediately, and had to travel yesterday. Truck ran well, did not struggle, run hot, or sound off except for a slow tick at idle that can only be heard outside the...

What has been you're Ram experiences

On my second 5th Gen. First was a 2019 1500 Laramie Sport, 5.7 Hemi eTorque, CCSB, 4x4, ORP, Rambox, BUG, Level 1, 8.4" screen. I'd still be driving it if I didn't have a major lifestyle change. Had one issue - fixed under warranty - with the 48V battery on the eTorque. This was my...

    3500 payload?

My 5th wheel is max 16,900 and runs closer to 25% on the pin. Couldn't do it with a SRW and still sit in the cab while driving without being over. Thus, the DRW. At 18k, maybe it is a triple axle trailer and less on the pin though.

A can of worms.. Payload.. Why?

I know when I was looking for my truck, the SRW had a GVWR around 11,700 lbs, and the DRW had a GVWR of 14,000. As I was looking for 5200+ lbs of payload, and the SRWs I could find were all in the 4200 range when optioned out, I went the route of DRW. That extra 2300 lbs of GVWR only netted me...

Do the Limiteds sit lower than the Laramie etc?

Can't comment on the height of the Limited, but I do know that the ORP added a factory 1" lift to my 1500 Laramie.

    Well that’s disappointing

I had this issue on my 1500 before I traded. They had to replace the eTorque battery unit (under warranty) and never had the problem again. The motor/generator runs at 48V, and the control module with the higher voltage battery then charges the 12V system. Something in the DC/DC converter...

    Etorque and gas mileage

When I had my 1500, you could feel the motor giving you the 'launch' from a standstill, mostly when you were just trying to move up a half car length and didn't want to go fast, it would give more umph than I wanted. I could also feel a very slight change in how the braking felt when the regen...
