    Cam

You’ll want a cam with a narrow lobe separation angle, 104-108 range. Not typical with stock valve-train, so you’ll want to call comp or crane for a custom grind. The pcm and your brakes may not like it, so I’d recommend really researching this before you pull the trigger. Also, your performance...

    2001 2500 4x4 w/ 5.9L Magnum - HP gains?

Here’s some dyno numbers for different intakes on a 5.9 http://www.hughesengines.com/Upload/TechArticles/FIAirgapdynocompare.pdf Also, The stock injectors ‘might’ be able to support 400hp, but as you can see, getting that motor from 230hp to 400hp will require quite a bit more work. As I’m...

    2001 2500 4x4 w/ 5.9L Magnum - HP gains?

I think it would be difficult to add nearly 50% more hp with just intake/exhaust and injector bolt-ons. The best that would like do, is to raise hp a tad in the higher rpms (4-6k), with a little loss in the 2-3k rpm range. And a bigger loss in lower torque. You’ll want to look at stroking...

    5.2 Magnum Performance

Nothing wrong with that, a great project either way. Have fun building it [emoji106]

    5.2 Magnum Performance

Alright, well then you’ll need heads drilled for both magnum and LA intake manifolds, then an LA intake manifold, rebuild your fuel system to the psi requirements of the sniper, add an ignition system, and remove the stock computer, rewire the fuse box, particularly the auto shutdown relay. That...

    5.2 Magnum Performance

If you don’t want mpi, then I’d sell the hughes and buy an LA intake. You’ll probably make money in the process. Assuming the heads are drilled for both LA and magnum. I’m not understanding why you want to convert a magnum block to LA style?

    46RE Upgrade

I don’t have personal experience with monster, just an example. Here’s another: https://shiftritetransmissions.com/product-category/transmissions/46re/ Mine was rebuilt at a local shop with master rebuild kit, HD valvebody, and a transgo shift kit. About $1000, but mine was in pretty good...

    46RE Upgrade

600 hp is not that bad, the 46RE can handle it easy with a $2500 budget and a core. A local shop should be able to rebuild it for you, or look online at monster transmissions. I have a stroked 5.9 with the 46RE. The toughest part is getting it on a dyno to find your torque curve, and then...

Is upgrading stock coils worth the cost?

I have a higher compression stroked 360, with upgrades throughout. The stock ignition coil still works fine for me though. Dyno tested to 5500rpm.

    Swapping a 5.2 for a 5.9?

The 5.2 is internally balanced and needs a neutral 5.2 flywheel. The 5.9 is externally balanced and needs the weighted 5.9 flywheel. Unless you do what I did, put in an internally balanced rotating assembly in the 5.9, then use the 5.2 neutral flywheel.

Running rich and don’t know why.

It shouldn’t, but I had that problem when i swapped my jeep tps with the dodge (custom build). This shouldn’t be your problem. But, still check that you are getting 5v and a good ground. If not, the pcm will default to open, like the tps is not even connected.

Running rich and don’t know why.

Check the voltages on the tps. Particularly the ground and 5v (pin 1 and 3). Also, there is a chance you may have the ground and 5v reversed for the particular tps sensor installed.

1999 Dodge ram 1500 needs a new ecu

I have gotten a stock pcm from solopcms.com with no problems. And I had another pcm tuned by B & G Performance that I run in my stroker with no problems. Hope this helps

Head Valve size to use on Stroked 360

I use the indy max iron heads with 2.02 valves, but I also have a bored throttle body and a hotter cam. Btw i still use the keg, haven’t replaced it yet. Although, i also have a custom b&g tune because I have 10.5:1 compression. If you want to keep low end, you are on the right track with the...

    99 RAM Irregular Shifting

Try adjusting the kick down linkage a bit tighter, it sounds like you may have a bit too much slack.

question on boring out a 5.9

You don’t, I assumed you were still planning on boring the cylinders.

question on boring out a 5.9

I have used both crane cams and comp cams with great results. You will want to call them and ask for a recommendation based on your planned upgrades. They will pick the perfect grind for your use, and tell you if the choice would require a tune, bored throttle body, or different valve springs...

question on boring out a 5.9

If you want more power on the cheap, 30 over standard pistons will only get you to 365ci or so. But, if you get high compression pistons, that will help even better. The cubic inches wont go up, but hp and torque will. Downside is you’ll need to run premium gas. Another quick and easy upgrade...
