I'm not sure exactly how the heating and A/C system works, but I thought that when the temperature setting did not call for heat, or when the A/C is in use, the coolant through the heater core was somehow shut off.
Please enlighten me as to how the heating system works.

IF, on our 2018 and 2019 Classic, the bulb out error is a one time thing and does not appear every time the directionals are use, I can live with that.
I'm basing this on @GordDavey comments in Post #36. Just don't know if that's also applicable to the 2018/2019 Classic.
I would also like to...
You will need both plugs. There are two Block into which the wire will plug. The plugs are different, so you cannot plug the wires into the wrong Block.
I had to really search around to find the second Block on my 2019 Classic (it was facing forward and not readily visible).
Hope this helps...
The only issue that is holding me back from buying is the hyperflash with the switchbacks.
I've been waiting for an owner to describe in detail how/if this was resolved on the 2018/2019 Classic models.

In looking at these on the Alpharex Site, I see that the directional lights are not sequential.
Is this correct?
If so, that is a bit disappointing.

That slight delay may actually be an advantage.
If someone is not looking at your brake lights when they come on, they may catch the OPT7 light when they come on.

You do need the Security Adapter for the 20019 RAM 1500 Classic.
The Security Adapter provides an OBD Port to replace the existing Port when the Security Adapter is plugged into the the original OBD Port.
Simple installation. The hardest part for me was finding the Starcan Ports.

The two locking tabs are at the top and bottom of the grommet.
They need to be compressed (pushed) inward, and then the grommet can be removed.
They are pretty stiff, and require quite a bit of pressure.

I used this 5 way adapter, and it mated to the Opt7 perfect.
I just crimped a bullet connector to the white wire and plugged it into the 5th wire of the 5 way.
Plug & Play all the way.

Just a note on the wiring of a high amperage device like an inverter.
There is much more loss on the 12V lead to the inverter, than on the 115V line out of the inverter.
It is better to place the inverter as close to the cource (battery) as possible, and then route the output to the desired...
I'm not sure that is the case when the high beams are LED, as the LED Bulbs run at a constant current (full brightness) unless their output is reduced by their controller due to heat related issues.

I started to order through Amazon (I have PRIME), then thought better.
OPT7 calls their upgraded warranty Prime, and stated a replacement is shipped and you use the return label they provide to return the defective unit.
Time will tell (I hope not). LOL

My OPT7 arrived today. It'll be a few days before I can get it installed with the 5 Pin Adapter.
Based on the posts regarding failures, I included the Prime Warranty. Now that I included the warranty, I will probably not need it. Murphey.

To obtain that, unfortunately you are looking at something like a CR Spotless system.
You might also check out the units at freedrinkingwater.com. Slightly less expensive without the built in monitor. The link to their equivalent is https://www.freedrinkingwater.com/cws-300.htm
