    87 vs 89 octane

2022 5.7: at 18k miles I started experiencing a slight hesitation when accelerating from a dead stop. Didn’t matter if the start/stop feature was on or off. This is my 3rd 5.7 and have always just used 87 octane. Both of the other trucks are still in the family. 17 with my son, 19 with my...

    Auto brake lights but why??

These came on for no reason on my way home from work. Got home, shut the engine off, restarted and they went away. Any ideas as to why they came on?

    Battery swap weirdness

Had to swap out my battery after 3.5 years. Knew things were going to need to go through resets. Didn’t expect to get a check engine light and a P1df3 code. Let the truck sit overnight, all is good this morning. Gotta luv the weirdness of these trucks.

    Inverter question

Looking at a 22 Laramie. Missing one option I need. The 115v outlets. Dealer says they cannot be added. However, the inverter and outlets are available from Mopar parts. Pretty sure the harness in the console is pre-wired for the outlets. Not sure about the harness that feeds the inverter...

    Well that’s disappointing

Just specked out a 2023 1500. All 1500s are e-torque now. No more non e-torque 5.7s . Leaning heavily towards keeping my 2019 now.

    1st time seeing this.

39k mostly intra-city miles. 1st time I’ve seen this pop up. I’ve seen plenty of emergency vehicles but there were none today so no clue what triggered it. Is this a new feature from some update?

Dead FOB, CCTV tower and a pair of Buicks.

Parked in the outskirts of a grocery store lot close to a solar powered, mobile CCTV tower. Was there less than 15 minutes. Came out and no go w/the FOB. Tried pushing the start button with the end of the FOB as prescribed. Nothing! Two newer Buicks were parked nearby. Both owners had dead FOBs...

    Something positive.

So I’m employed by U-Haul. Retired from management but stayed on taking a job in the shop as a driver. I was tired of the stress but still needed something to stay busy. With a fleet of 130,000 vehicles there a never ending need for service and repairs so, I shuttle trucks to and from the field...

    Folding mirrors/great service

Power folding mirrors; Left side was sometimes continuing to try to close. The motor would keep running causing the mirror to snap back after binding against the stop. It often went through 3 cycles before it stopped. Then wouldn’t extend back out. Still under warranty, I took it into the...

My truck + my wife = an F bomb.... or two

Driving the grocery getter to the store the other night. Wife is sifting through coupons but its dark so she reaches up to turn on the map light in the overhead console.....did you know the S.O.S. button is just in front of the map light? Did you know it doesn’t matter how many times you pound...

    Wind noise?

During a recent 1500 mile trip I experienced, for the first time, the wind noise that I’ve seen mentioned in other threads on here. I only had this noise at 75+mph with strong right to left crosswinds. It never came from the right side of the truck regardless of speed or crosswind. My suspicion...

    Dumbfounded

A little history first; as of 08/31/19 we (wife & I) owned 3 Mopar vehicles. A 2003 Ram 1500, a 2017 Ram 1500 and a 2012 Dodge Journey. Son had been driving the 03 to college. When he was moving out to his new job starting in 09/19 I took back the 03 and gifted him the 17. Daughter still has the...

    Gen 4 vs Gen 5

    July 2017: purchased a new 2017 1500 4X2 Crew Cab, 5.7 HEMI / 3:92 gears / 5’7” bed / Lone Star “Silver” package / Delmonico Red. I passed this truck on to my son in Aug 2019. October 2019: purchased a new 2019 1500 4X2 Crew Cab, 5.7 Hemi / 3:92 gears / 5’7” bed Lone Star / Delmonico Red. The...

    Katskin leather

Passed my 2017 Lonestar “Silver” on to my son. For the non Texans; the Silver package on a 2017 Lonestar was essentially a Laramie package that included, among other things, leather trimmed seats. Trying to duplicate that package as much as possible on a 2020 Lonestar. I can get close with all...
