    Heated steering wheel troubleshooting

I know when I turn mine on I can hear a relay click, does yours make any noise when you try to turn it on?

    Rear Sliding window stuck

Does the motor cut out when trying to slide back the window pane into the closed position? (i.e. can you still hear the motor trying to engage)

    Brake upgrade

There are a few BBK (big brake kits) available to these trucks, I know for a fact Wilwood makes one. Unless you are racing the truck or just towing way more than what the truck is rated for I wouldn't waste the couple thousand dollars to upgrade them. A good set of aftermarket pads and rotors is...

    Another Parasitic drain thread :(

I know it isn't readily available for most, but I have had great luck in using a thermal imager on the fuse block to find parasitic draws in the past on other vehicles. It allows me to see which fuses heat up more than others while the vehicle is off, and from there check wiring diagrams and...

    Best Mods for Under $100

You also might run into some issues with your truck throwing a "bulb out" message in the instrument cluster if you swap over to LED's too. Since LED bulbs have a lower draw on them compared to a halogen bulb, it makes the vehicle believe that one is inoperative and throws a message in the...

    2018 1500 Laramie 4x4

I myself am running BFG K02's (35/12.50/20) and have the same issue in the rain. Unfortunately with all-terrain tires, the tread is not best suited for rain, but rather snow/mud. With such an aggressive tread pattern they are made to cut into and grab hold of whatever they run through, but with...

    Best Mods for Under $100

I run GTX CSP Minis and have been happy with them because most of the cheaper LEDs from Amazon would require you to modify the stock housing because the dust shield on the back would not screw back in due to the large heat sink on those cheaper LED bulbs. My recommendation is if the GTX bulbs...

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Yes! You can get them in bronze with the same black "beadlock" outline or in gunmetal gray. I just decided I wanted to go with black :)

Finally got around to ordering my new wheels and tires! Should have them on tomorrow, so pictures will be coming soon :)

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Got the hellwig sway bar installed, not fun to do when it's over 100 degrees outside. Set the bar at the middle setting, and I am very pleased with how it turned out. Still need to throw on my Fox leveling kit, but I'll have to do that when it cools down. Gonna be fun :)

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

How'd you get your 2014 to enable Apple CarPlay? I thought only the 2018+ Ram's offered it, unless you swapped the whole radio?

Workingbthe front end of my 2014 RWD Ram 1500

If you are going to level it, I would recommend longer shocks, and cambered upper ball joints to account for the suspension geometry change. Bilstein shock (part number 24-274999) comes with a 1.75 in longer body, which would help out with your level. Monroe shocks are essentially an OE...

    Totaled or repairable?

Yeah, that frame is gonna be all sorts of messed up. I'd opt for a total, and then just get another one of those rebels.

So glad I own Ram/FCA product

Gates recommends replacing the serpentine belt and tensioner every 60k miles, and pulleys go bad just because the bearings inside wear out. Factory Iridium plugs "normally" last for about 100k mile intervals, but after around 60k to 80k you can start to notice them aging. Depending on your...

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Finally went ahead and ordered me the Hellwig 7709 rear sway bar and the MaxTrac 2.5in leveling kit for my truck. Should have everything by the 14th of this month! I've been thinking about painting the new sway bar red, has anyone attempted that and had good success with it?

    Orginal Battery Finally Died

AGM batteries are becoming standard on more cars nowadays because of their ability to withstand a higher electrical demand, and in the case the factory battery is located inside the vehicle, you do not have to worry about the battery leaking acid all over your interior. Many people are familiar...

    2019? 4th or 5th gen??

You're not wrong. My dad purchased a 5th gen a while back and as I was looking at it I noticed that the doors sounded weird when I closed them. I took a closer look and realized most of the truck was plastic! The doors, front end, rear fenders, front fenders, (cant remember if the hood was...

New gears make a world of difference!!!

Man, and I thought my 3.92's sounded good. Oh well, when I get bigger tires it'll be a good excuse to add in a limited slip along with new gears. :)

Forth Gen DS continues to 2021 and beyond?

That's a great way of looking at it, its nice to know I'm gonna have spare parts readily available for a long time to come.

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

I’ve done a couple things the past few days (and today). Debadged my truck but decided to keep the hemi badge. Only took a few hours of fishing line and 3M adhesive remover in the hot Texas summers. Definitely doing it in the shade next time for sure. After getting all the adhesive off I used...

What motor oil and oil filter do you use and why?

Well, retracting my last post. I bit the bullet and swung by summit racing and picked up some redline 5w-30. Figured if I was going to do it might as well go all out the first time. We will see how it performs! :)

Has anyone experienced this battery issue before?

Did the battery smell like vinegar / sulfur? If so, battery pretty much died. I'd check the alternator at a local auto parts store and make sure the alternator is putting out enough voltage, because once the engine is on, the alternator takes over keeping the electrical components running.

Any ideas as to what the noise could be? Dealership can't replicate

First thing I would do is have it in park and raise the rpms up to 3000 - 4000 and see if the noise is made. If so, probably a belt or pulley. If not, take some low speed turns in a parking lot and check and see if the noise is made. If so, could be a cv axle going out or wheel bearing. If not...
