Never had any complaints or problems with the PX6 mic.
Asked a couple people right after I installed it and everyone said it was clear and clean.
Dunno about the 12.1 systems, but I don't miss my manual controls at all.
Not 100% certain, but I'm leaning toward a collapsed lifter roller. The tick is the yoke of the lifter banging off the cam. If you get it in soon enough you can replace the lifters only. If it's too far along, you are replacing the lifters and cam as the cam will be slowly shredded up by the...
My PX6 is flawless still.
Just for those who fear as to whether or not these units are worth it.
I'll probably sell the whole truck before I ever trade up. Just avoid Phoenix. Seems to be the common denominator for most peoples issues .
Always glad to be of service.

That does seem like a low voltage issue caused by low temperature.
Probably what SitKneelBend was saying.
Trucks battery saver mode drops the voltage when cold which then messes with your HUs sleep mode (standby) settings. Not sure if there would be a work around for that software-wise.
My PX6...
DMd you the links with instructions.
Only perform on a PX6 unit.
Can't guarantee that it will work, but my fingers are crossed for you.
My unit is still working perfectly since using these files. Even just installed a reverse camera recently and it works perfectly as well.
So who knows.
Sorry for the late reply.
I can try uploading my most current files to dropbox when I get home tonight. They are for the PX6 version. Hopefully it will help
I had a misfire and chooching whistle on my 2013. Turned out to be a combo of broken manifold bolts and failing roller lifter. After repair/replacement and a $6000 bill, now she only wobbles a little at high speeds. Lol
I'm pretty sure I have the only fully functional PX6 unit in existence. Lol
Got it from Carsoll.
PX6s are newer, so less time has passed for the developer to refine and polish it. It can be a mixed bag.
Got mine working after a few firmware upgrades sent to me by Carsoll upon request ...
Proprietary Apple drivers are required for the iPod to be accessed by the HU. So without a dongle or built in Carplay, it's probably impossible on these units
Probably not as this system uses a fat32 read architecture. Don't think an iPod is compatible at all unless a dongle would do the hibbity bibbity computer magic
Anyone have an issue connecting their iPod to the unit via USB. Mine doesn't recognize my iPod from any USB port
Is there some sort of magic trick to this?
The volume being lower is kind of what I was referring to with regard to noise. The dual mics will share a signal, producing a larger range of ambient sound pickup. The two mics probably are sharing any sort of low voltage as well. So to use both mics, you'd probably need a powered mic or low...
A 3.5mm channel splitter (y-cable) should work perfectly fine for this application. The fact that you are trying to pick up sound from one source (I. E. The truck cab) and are sending that sound to one source channel (I. E. The head unit 3.5mm input), and you do not require multi channel mixing...
