    That's something I'm gonna do this weekend. If I put higher octane in it it will ping less, but I don't see any reason these trucks can't take regular gas. I just put a new 190 thermo in there. I might try retarding the timing slightly before changing that.

    I replaced the cap and plugs. Its running much better now. Some pinging still when pulling a load. I think I need to do the gasket. It kinda hisses or whistles when accelerating. But i always thought that was just vacuum noise.

    you can always try to jump the starter relay. If the starter wont turn when you jump it then it could have a dead spot. If it does turn, then it could be your cables.

    Alternator. Mine just did the same thing. It would crank after it died but it wouldnt run. Letting it sit for awhile would fix it. Take it to autozone, pull off the alt and have them test it. I put a new one in and never had the problem again

    Try the spray seafoam treatment. Itll clean your butterfly valve and the whole intake. Did wonders for my 360 and it only cost 10 bucks
