    EcoDiesel EGR recall important!!!!

Just as an encouragement: After my incident in October and 47 days in the shop, where the dealer basically performed the same thing as in what became the recall, plus replacement of damaged parts, the truck has run more or less flawlessly. Have 10k more miles on it now than at the time it...

    EcoDiesel EGR recall important!!!!

Michael, Do Contact Lydia at Ram Cares. They reached out to me on this forum last November and although it was hit and miss at times, and I ended up working with four or five different people, they expedited my case and we’re actually able to get parts for me once or twice in the ordeal.

    EcoDiesel EGR recall important!!!!

Even though it took them three tries and 47 days to fix my EGR related problems, I have been treated very well by my dealership and pretty well by FCA, all things considered. Got the truck back at Thanksgiving, and so far she seems to be running well. Not getting quite the fuel mileage I...

Dial Shifter Made My Life Easier

I thought it was kind of girly at first. I did reach for the radio knob by mistake or vice versa, but so far the fact that they are different sizes has alerted me to my mistake in time to keep me from accidental shifting or failing to shift (also knock on wood). I remember a family friend who...

If it’s a single axle, and not all wheel drive, does it just go in circles?

    EcoDiesel EGR recall important!!!!

Wow. I guess I got lucky in getting parts. Have you initiated a case with FCA Customer Care? My case manager was helpful in getting the replacement intake delivered in just three days instead of three weeks. Even at that mine was in six weeks and 4 days! So far, it’s running well. Keeping my...

New to forum - new to RAM - want to love my EcoDiesel, but...

Watched a video on the Gen3 ED. Looks like they had to tweak the transmission to accommodate the upgrades to the engine, so my guess is that replacing a Gen2 with a Gen3 might also involve changing out the tranny.

UPDATE: Got my truck back this afternoon (for the second time). So far, (15 miles) it’s purring like a kitten. Definitely running a little better than before the issue, but it should with cleaned injectors and everything new topside!

New to forum - new to RAM - want to love my EcoDiesel, but...

Bought my 2016 RAM 1500 Ecodiesel, Laramie in August, local, one-owner (from reputable used-car dealer), w/34,752 miles on it. LOVED it for the first 59 days. Then it had the melt-down at 36,150 on October 11th. Has been at the dealer ever since, with many many many shiny new parts replaced...

    EcoDiesel EGR recall important!!!!

FCA can't do anything to fix this right now. They are (hopefully) manufacturing replacement parts that will probably include a replacement intake (not plastic, hopefully) and possibly new EGR cooler. In the meantime, it is IMPERATIVE that you keep a close eye on your coolant level. Keep it...
