I had the factory air suspension in m '16 Longhorn and swapped it out for springs. I ran aftermarket complete 4th gen struts and switched to 5th gen springs in the front. In the rear I had takeout 4th gen rear springs that I swapped out for Gladiator springs. Even still the truck isn't as soft...
There is a tab on the bottom of the clear lens, push/pull the tab towards the center of the lens and outwards to remove the lens. The bulb just pulls out after the lens is removed. I broke 3 out of 4 tabs when I changed to 194 LEDs so I ended up removing them and using a flush mount LED puck...
I went through all the effort to install a system from Accuair and will advise against that. The problem I found with aftermarket companies is the need to overcomplicate their system to offer a bunch of "features" that no one needs or wants in order to justify the ludicrous cost. If you want a...
In order to open, the ramboxes must be double unlocked: manually and electronically as they are 2 separate lock systems. You can manually lock them and they stay locked even when unlocking with the fob.
Ram body will last better than GM however both have the same speed frame rust. In the salt-belt you have about 5 yrs before any suspension work involves torching off bolts. Unfortunately that makes repairs much more costly. On both accounts: the cheaper stripped down trucks seem to be less...
I did not take many pictures. I just cut the endplates off the cross tube and welded 3/4" thick square steel plates with hole in each corner. I ran long bolts all the way through the front frame rails so I didn't have to try fishing nuts down the box section. Mounted it directly between the...
I didn't like how low the hitch sat, way down at the air dam. I cut the ends off and welded new mounting plates to the end and mounted mine directly to the frame rails. It required a hole in the bumper, at license plate height. I ended up building a new plate holder that pins in to the hitch
There's a ground on the frame near the air compressor module and by the filler neck. Those are the only two I can recall. Probably a few more up front if I had to guess
I have the ARB twin and you are correct, it is quite loud for the size and I'm not impressed with the output. If you are serious about onboard air, get an engine/belt driven compressor. They are leaps and bounds better than any electric compressor.
I replaced mine with 1/2in longer studs without removing the hub, but that was a 4th gen I would assume there is a spot that will allow you to press the studs out one at a time and replace them. Obviously the brakes have to come off, but I think the axle and hub can most likely stay.
The only Headache rack I know of is from Backrack and it's pretty awful quality. I built my own out of Stainless steel for less and got to keep my tonneau. It's not perfect, but for using the wrong tools and doing it in a gravel driveway, it could have been much worse.
You "can" mount basically any width tire on any width wheel. Should you mount "x tire" with "y wheel width" is a whole other debate. With the handling be affected? Load capacity? Clearances? Looks? All case by case basis. The 9"width can handle anything from somewhere near a 205mm up to...
I would pull a single sway bar link efectively "removing it" and see if you can handle the change in ride/handling and make your decision from personal experience whether to remove entirely or just disconnect it.
I've had several older 4x4 that I have removed the sways and I personally like the...
4th gen Laramie trim on up had the option to run that combo right from factory. Its actually a pretty insignificant difference, unless you put them right next to each other. It will mount up and look fine
