I'm lucky to see 11 mpg average in my PW. Dont drive it much so it seems like I'm always towing something during a tank of fuel. My 1500 used to avg 16 to 18, easy low 20s on the hwy.
I was able to use a cheapy security adapter on my 2500, but it wasn't right for my 2018. Bought the kaodtech security module then sold the truck right after. They said they offer returns but couldn't be bothered to asnwer my requests. Any i have a brand new one on the box if you still need one.
There are actually 2 forms of Hemi tick you have to watch out for, exhaust and lifters. Exhaust is from cast iron manifolds on aluminum heads. Eventually the manifolds can warp and can break the manifold studs in the head. If you want to prevent this, install headers, either shorty or long...
My wife has a WRX that is direct injected. I think the whole valve deposit thing is overblown a bit. It happens but I don't think its a critical issue that you need walnut blasting every 30k miles. Ours is on a stage 2 tune with 75k miles on it and it still runs great. Port and Direct combo...
Something I think a lot of people missed is that the HO hurricane actually has a lower towing capacity than the SO. You would think more power = more towing, but there must be some durability concern pushing the extra power.
I put shorties on my 1500 to prevent warped manifolds down the road. I expected to keep it longer but needed a bigger truck for a camper. Now I'm debating them on the 6.4. I can't say I've ever heard they help the engine last longer due to backpressure, but I'm no expert. As for your long...
I couldn't get my transmission completely level when I did my old 1500, but it was pretty close. Felt pretty sketchy running it in gear on jack stands. Otherwise its really not a hard procedure to do. It will help a ton if you have a fluid pump you can operate with one hand, like a converted...
I used to do this at costco to get 89-ish (CO had 85 and 91), but eventually got tired of doing a second transaction and holding up the line so I just filled up with 91.
I wonder if you also have a different hitch height from old to new truck, causing your tongue weight to change. I was getting bad trailer sway on my old 1500 pulling a cargo trailer. Ended up with a 6" drop hitch to level out the trailer and that pretty much solved the problem. I also agreed...
This is basically the only way to do the fluid change. What I would recommend is after you change the fluid, drive it for 500 or 1000 miles until you have another free weekend and then drain and change the fluid again. You dont have to take the pan off the second time so it is a lot easier...
You should be fine without airbags as long as you have the WDH setup properly. I have a toy hauler thats about the same length but 7300 dry. Add a 1500 lb Can Am and the truck is pretty well maxed out on paper. Truck towed that trailer through the mountains in Colorado fine with just a wdh...
Thats the same noise. I read through the whole HD rams thread and everyone agreed it's just exhaust noise. Neither y pipe nor mufflers made any difference. Curious if headers is the answer or something with the cats.
I dont see anything in that Video link that seems like a before video, but I think I know what sound you are talking about after watching one of those videos on HD Rams. I guess I assumed that particular noise was just the exhaust noise in the muffler.
I agree, but I was sure glad to have properly working brakes when I lost trailer brakes coming out of the mountains in CO last year.
To OP, I did notice the brake pedal in my 2500 is much softer and has a bit more play than the 1500 I had.
Did you add the trailer camera connector with this kit or did your truck come with it? I've been trying to find some info to add a trailer camera but maybe I'm searching the wrong thing.
I have only owned my power wagon a few months, but dropping the pressure helped the ride significantly. Different tires obviously, but the consensus for the PW is about 45 psi front and 40 psi rear unloaded. You can do a chalk test on your tires to determine if you are over optimal pressure...
My 2018 would do that. I would be driving along with just the vent blowing air and the AC would automatically turn on. It was either raining or really humid outside. So it's not just defrost it will also do it for regular vent air.
I had husky in my 1500. Got them from Amazon warehouse so the price was hard to beat. Only gripe I had with them was the spikes on the underside I feel like are not good for the carpet and I was extra careful when removing them to make sure I didnt scratch the leather. My 2500 already had...
Most vendors just drop ship from the manufacturer or a central warehouse nowadays. Probably looking for a big company like summit to actually keep anything in their own warehouse.
I've been using these waffle weave towels for years and have really good luck with them. https://www.autogeek.net/cobra-waffle-weave.html I'm really surprised to see all the people using big fuzzy towels as they will want to pick up any and every contaminant and keep it in those fibers. Only...
