People like you are few and far between in the service industry! My local dealer is a family friend and I trust them. They told FCA person that the other dealer likely charged for things that weren’t done. Like the $400 to remove plow frame ( The flimflam $hit I mention ) and never touched it. I...
Well the truck is back at the local dealer. Sounds like the one that did the install did some flimflam $hit. They charged to remove the plow frame and never touched it. They sent it out with active codes and didn’t fix all the recalls but they said they did.

Back to the subject. A 6.4 no, but a Cummins yes. I saw a 2017 Duramax at the dealer with 250k and it wasn’t cheap. I don’t think I’m saying anything you all don’t know. A high mileage diesel is going to sell and be a better bet than a high mileage gasser.

I assume he was out of warranty. My 2015 has 3 yr 60k mile B 2 B and 5 or 6 year 100k mile PT. At 189k he would have been out of warranty by almost 90k miles

I just got my 2015 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi Tradesmen 4dr 4wd with a few good after market parts on it, like rear airbags and hideaway led, K&N, Magna flow SS exhaust and Leveling kit back from the dealer with a brand new OEM long block. It comes with a 3 year 100k warranty. The truck has 98k miles on...
So after looking at my paperwork, they are saying that it was a rod bearing that went. I’m not a mechanic, but a rod bearing isn’t the same as a lifter roller bearing is it? A rod bearing is what the piston rod rides on that’s attached to the crankshaft. I feel like they are misdiagnosing the...
@WhiteStar are you getting a check engine light? How many miles are on the pretty white truck? I tried to get the mechanics notes, but got some resistance. I was told what I have is a translated version mixed in with all the paper work. I’m interested to see what the “catastrophic failure”...
So my brother just got the truck. He said it sounds great! No Hemi tick anymore. Replaced with “NEW” long block from the factory. He said a quick look at the paperwork shows $11k worth or warranty repairs. I’ll update when I have said papers in my hand. Merry Christmas

Unfortunately yes. It made a screeching noise one day and went back to the tick, but the tick was louder. A couple hundred miles before it totally went, it started getting hard to start too, like the battery was going or the starter was getting weak.

I think the K&N is an upgrade. They didn’t say anything. I’ve never had the truck serviced by a dealer either. I always changed my oil at my shop and they said nothing about the lack of service history either. They know it’s a problem and weren’t going to question anything. I have to say that...
They work great. With weight in the truck I could plow in 2WD. They last about 35k or more if you rotate them and not that loud on the highway at all.

I load up a paint sprayer and lace the undercarriage pretty heavily. Anyway, they just called and with towing, labor (plow frame) plugs, belt, trans flush, filter and hoses it’s going to cost me $1370. I’m thinking about sending my brother in a rental car to pick it up, but if it fails on the...
It always had a tick. I was told by everyone that it’s just how the Hemi is. Now I know that’s BS. I don’t have it back yet. They called yesterday and said it should be ready today and that the lines going to the trans are shitty looking, I need new ones and it’s going to cost another $400+-. I...
I’m not really brand loyal, I just love trucks! They all have their pros and cons. I have an older Ford F-350 7.3 too. The Chevy Duramax is the newest one. It’s badged as an LTZ beca it’s the z71, but it’s got all the options the High Counrty has. And I’ve quit plowing, not that the dodge did...
2019 Jeep Limited
2019 Duramax LTZ z71 midnight edition
2018 Husqvarna TX 300
1995 F350 7.3 with stacks
2015 Ram Tradesman 4 dr w/ rear airbags, SS exhaust, K&N cold air, LEDs everywhere and hideaways all around
And soon to be a z51 mid engine
