Re:Do Gen 4 Hemi 2500 have trans cooler stock?

Hey Rick, congrats on the new hauler. I bought mine out of state also. As for upgrades, I haven't done any yet and I have towed my toy hauler weighing between 7,200 and 11,000 (depends on toys and water) for over 18,000 towing miles out of Cali. The highest temp I have ever seen on the trans...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

I have a 2018 2500 6.4 Hemi with 4.10 gears. I towed a toy hauler with a weight between 7500 and 9800 lbs over 15,000 miles. I now tow a toy hauler weighing between 9100 and 11000 lbs (over 5,000 miles so far). I have never had an issue towing with it all over the western states even through...

    Feeling disappointed with Ram...

Yeah, I saw that. I was thinking for anyone else with the issue might have the info in the future. If anyone has the same abs issue, send me a message and I will give the information.

    Feeling disappointed with Ram...

Is it against the rules to post a link to another forum for a possible fix for this issue and a workaround for the supply issue? Having a 2018 2500, I try and stay in the know of common issues, even if I have not had them yet. I found a post where a few people fixed the problem.

Last Ram I will ever purchase

I have a 2018 2500 that went in four times for leaks in the cab. They replaced the third brake light, sunroof (including new headliner), shark fin, and then the rear sliding window. It was all under warranty, and I honestly think the leak was the rear window the whole time. I think they just...

    6.4 Hemi oil temps

"I hate this expression because the hemi doesn't "like" anything. It was programmed/tuned to run at a range the engineers/bean counters decided it should run at. What your observations should be leading you to say, is: the hemi often runs at 220 to 250 degrees." I believe if you read my post...

    6.4 Hemi oil temps

I haven't had any issues and mine runs around 220 normal driving and between 230 and 255 towing the west coast mountains. I was concerned at first, but everything I saw leads me to believe the hemi likes to run warmer.

Transmission issue. Seems strange to me.

I had something similar happen in my 2004 f150 years ago. It ended up being the shift cable. It could be similar or if it is electronic (not sure what year ram switched to electronic shifters) it could be a fuse somewhere.

    Tire mpg

I am trying to stay with an all terrain because I do tow my toyhauler off road a few times a year, as well as the wife and I like to explore trails on our trips.

    Tire mpg

Thank you for the replies. The Coopers were the ture I was leaning toward. The stock tires are down to 5/32 at 22,000 miles so I definitely want something that will last a little longer.

    Tire mpg

I am almost at the point to where I need to upgrade the tires for my 2018 6.4 hemi 4x4 285/60r20. The oem Firestines have been okay, but I am seeing what may work better. Based on my research, I am torn between the Continental Terraincontact A/T and the Cooper Discoverer at3 Xlt. What I am...

5th Wheel or Bumper Pull Toyhauler?

I know I am late to the party, but I figured I would add a little to the conversation. I have owned 4 different toy haulers over the years, both 5th wheel and tow behind. My current is a tow behind. I can honestly say if the tow behind is set up properly, it is just as nice as the 5th wheel...

    Hitch height

Mine measures 25.25" to the top (2018 4x4 with short bed and ram boxes).

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

For those prices I wouldn't have done it either. I would have just stayed with the 3.73.

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

No, nor have I reprogrammed either of my last 2 trucks I regeared. I never experienced any issues and I always used online calculators to see how it affected my speedometer.

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

I have always towed gas (except when assisting someone else towing with their truck), so with this truck when going up hills I try to keep it in the sweet spot of 3,500 to 4,500 rpms and around 55mph to 60mph. Whatever gear puts me there is fine by me.

Is it possible to increase toe capacity

I am guessing by your calculations on the tow rating your truck is a single cab short bed with 3.73 gearing. According Ram, 4.10 gearing changes the tow rating from 8,800 to 10,600. This will not change your door sticker though.

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

With the 4.10 I have an overall average of 11.5. 45% of my mileage is towing the toy hauler, 40% is hitting stop signs around town every block, and 15% is freeway miles. On freeway trips I average 16.5, and all miles are hand calculated. I think most who are not happy with the 4.10 are either...

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

Sorry JerryETX, didn't mean to hijack with the tuner question. The regear is expensive but I think you will enjoy towing more. It will hold 3rd on hills longer for you than that 3.73.

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

Thanks Hemimann. I had considered the edge pulsar in-line because on my previous truck I was pleased with their tuner. I haven't made the jump because I had heard many have had pcm issues with it. These trucks have so many electronics now it scares me.

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

Hey Hemimann, what tuner are you running. I looked into the pulsar, but it concerns me the number of people who have had issues. Also, I am limited since I live in Cali.
  22. Toddz

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

Oh and I forgot to add, when going through mountains at decent elevations the 4.10 will still allow you to run about 60mph in 2nd gear running about 4300 rpms.
  23. Toddz

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

You will get some who will tell you to go steeper if you are going to regear to like a 4.56 or 4.88. I did the switch 3.73 to 4.11 because my weights run 7800 to 10,000 depending on the toys in the hauler. I was shooting for the sweet spot and I find at those weights the 4.11 is perfect for me...

    3:73 to 4:10 cost

JerryETX, I had my gears done last year and it was $2,300 for front and rear. I know with the inflation and parts shortage parts are going to run more now. I am guessing you can get it done out the door around $2,800 if you find a local jeep shop.

Extended gas tank for Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi?

Unless they have made updates, Titan only makes diesel tanks. I wish the 52 gallon was available for the gas engine.
