What kinda jack are you using in case of a flat?

I've had one flat due to torn sidewall. I used the OEM jack. Was on a hill on a dirt road. Worked great. Stock 1500 Limited

Box Utility Rails vs Maxx Trax

Does anyone have thoughts on the OEM Utility Rails vs and aftermarket rail system like the Maxxis Trax? I want more tie-down options in the bed. Looking for good quality and bang for bucks. Thanks

    Seat Belts....

There are times when I want to back up 6”, or drive a short distance, without the truck harassing me about my seatbelt, or worse applying the brake and putting the truck in park! Yeah, I’ve got one of those 3” seat belt extenders - it fixes the problem, but it digs into the side of my gut...

    Tire size

Yep. I’ve got a ‘20 1500 Limited. 20” wheels with an 18” emergency spare. I had occasion to use the spare recently. It worked fine, but didn’t inspire confidence what with the speed limitations, etc... I was on a trip towing travel trailer. So I moved the emergency spared to the front...

Wheel for full sized 20" spare needed, 6 bolt

I had an occasion to use the emergency only spare tire a few weeks ago. I wasn't too thrilled as I was on a trip and towing a travel trailer. So, I want to replace the 18" emergency spare with a 20' full sized spare. I have a tire, so just need a rim. It seems inexpensive 20" steel wheels...

Lets see those travel trailers before the end of the season.

It’s a 2018 1995. I built a 4” subframe for more ground clearance and put 200 watts of solar on the roof. Great trailer! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Lets see those travel trailers before the end of the season.

2020 Ram 1500 w/5.7l V-8 on top of Beartooth Pass. Just shy 11,000’. Truck had no problem dragging the trailer up there. 3.21 gears, btw.

    Short Shank

I also added a 4” trailer lift, and aligned the axles. The alignment he’d been quite off. Then I added heavier batteries and solar panels to the front. I think it was the shift in weight and to some extent the alignment that stopped the sway.

Backup warning brake--How did Ram not think of this?

I tow both a travel trailer with a 7 pin (with electric brake) and a utility trailer with 4 pin with my ‘20 1500. I have the auto brake function manually turned off, but with either trailer the rear Park sense is automatically disabled. The 4 pin does have a 7 pin adapter hooked to it (due to...

    Short Shank

I had some sway with my 1500 and trailer combo. I moved some weight (200 lbs) forward in the trailer and no more sway.

    Bridgestone Duelers — fail

No, the tire was at max inflation as printed on the sidewall. Towing a travel trailer I wanted best load carrying ability and stability. Wasn’t towing when the tire failed.

Ok. It’s a 33 gallon tank. I put 32+ in the other day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Bridgestone Duelers — fail

Day one on the KO2s. Mostly highway and back roads. All towing. The steering is a little more vague than with the stock duelers, but not an issue. The KO2s have a different tone, but same decibels at 55 mph. Just hoping they’re more durable.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Bridgestone Duelers — fail

Less than 5k miles on the 1500 Limited w/ 20” wheels. Sidewall of the left rear tire failed while traveling slowly on gravel road. My wife drove a bit at 5 mph which really trashed the tire, but the sidewall failure was irreparable anyway. I’m on a long road trip and have lost confidence in...

    Surround view with trailer option

Yeah - I missed that the OP was asking about HD truck.

    Surround view with trailer option

I would be interested to know how a rear view camera mounted on the trailer can be incorporated in the 12” display. And if it can be done economically. I cant see how it could be part of surround, but would like a trailer rear view. Would like to avoid an add-on display.

    Surround view with trailer option

Interesting- I thought those were mutually exclusive. Mirrors need to have cameras for surround view, and I’ve been under the impression that the tow mirrors did not have cameras. Guess I’ve been under incorrect impression.

    Surround view with trailer option

If you get the towing package, which includes the towing mirrors, you will not get surround view. I have a 2020 limited, no towing package, but it did come with a trailer brake control and I fo have surround view. I use clip on mirror extensions when towing. They fit like gloves on the mirrors.

    Fuel Tank Size

LOL! Well, now I can see it’s not just me. It would be nice if that lying DTE readout would go negative rather than just remaining at zero (as I’m imagining it does). I may be willing to be the guinea pig - but does this vehicle (1500 hemi) have a problem with being run out of gas? I’ve had...

"What DON'T you like about your 5th Gen RAM"?

Well, keep on trolling all night long. It was a simple setting to allow up to 10 minutes after shut down to close the windows- so no, I’m not going to close the windows before shutting off the engine. Lol.

    Drive With Door Open

If you two-foot it - Keep the brake pedal slightly depressed while doing this - i believe that is what I’ve done. That AutoPark thing is pretty annoying, though, isn’t it?

"What DON'T you like about your 5th Gen RAM"?

Good. I dug into the manual. Apparently it’s a setting. “NOTE: The Key Off Power Delay feature will allow the power windows to operate for up to 10 minutes after the ignition is placed in the OFF position. “ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

"What DON'T you like about your 5th Gen RAM"?

I don’t really need to keep a thirsty 8 cylinder engine running just to put up the windows. My past 5 vehicles either gave a time, or until a door was opened to still have juice to close the windows. This 1500 Limited has the running boards going in n out, the suspension adjusting itself, and...
