Can we please get past the dealership model?

I don’t know if you speaking about sales or service however if it’s service/warranty work I’m not sure that specialty shops are able to do your warranty work at no cost to you. At least I’ve never seen it.

    Axle Ratio

I was in a similar situation. 5.7 with a 3.21. Not a good towing gear. I was also uncomfortable with the high revs. I ended up getting rid of my 2020 Longhorn which I absolutely loved (just like you love yours) and got a 2500 (GMC) with a diesel. HD trucks were pretty hard to find last year...

McGards. Solid and made in the USA.

    tow advice

I would add one thing. You said that you travel in the East. There are some low bridge height restrictions in some areas of the East that could have more effect on a fifth wheel that a bumper pull.

    Warping of Window Pillars

I’m sorry, I know that many are trying to help the OP with their suggestions however I really think that the situation is BS. What a sad state of affairs the US auto industry has become when we have to watch where we park or we have to plead with our neighbors to put a shade over their windows...

Regretting ordering 3.92 on my 22 Ram Ecodiesel and almost debating paying to downgrade to 3.21

A couple of observations. First, if the OP can find a truck like his with a 3.21 gear there must be more trucks in the lot than here in the Chicago area. Second, although larger tires will get him closer to the gear ratio that he desires it’s not going to help his mileage any. If the tires are...

    Before I purchase this camper

Good decision on going with a lighter trailer. I was in almost the exact same boat as you in terms of a tow vehicle only I purchased a trailer that by numbers seemed to be within specified capacity but in reality it was far too close. The 3.21 gear was the killer IMO. I didn’t like how it towed...

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

Well had my 6.4 been assembled and shipped I’m sure that it would have been just fine. I’ve been driving for 52 years and have had over 50 vehicles, many of them trucks but I never had a diesel nor did I have a need for one however, now that I have towed with one they make for a very nice tow...

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

Well here’s my RAM/Towing update. As of the beginning of June my Ram 2500 Longhorn with 6.4/4.10 still wasn’t being assembled. Add to that whatever time it would take to ship from Mexico and the summer would be over. I just happened to find (by accident actually) at a dealer close by, a used...

    New Ram Truck Order Tracking

I just used the link and my 2500 that was ordered 3/28 hasn’t budged in status. I showed my son the link and results and he said: “You can check the status or your Dominos order with better accuracy and better communication!” He is correct. You can find out more about a $20 pizza order than an...

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

So, I have reread this quite long thread that I started and would just like to make a few comments. The bicycle comparison was used. Having been an avid cyclist years ago along with 30 pounds ago (3K-4K a year in the Midwest with no winter riding), given the choice and keeping the same pace...

Thanks. I ordered my Longhorn 2500 8 weeks ago last Monday. Status is still at D1.

1ST TIME DIESEL OWNER / CONFUSED

Wow, this thread made me very happy that I ordered my new 2500 with a Hemi. I understand the more torque, towing power and better mileage of a diesel but it sounds far more complicated than I want to mess with.

Tires for 22 in factory wheels (2019 limited with air).

Agreed, I got rid of my 22’s and got some 20’s and then some 275/60R/20 BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAIN K02’s. They are not huge but all terrain instead of just passenger type tires and the tire selection increased enormously. The ride is better too. I have a RAM 2500 on order and I specified 18”...

    Which engine?

Same here with exception of the 23mpg part. I don’t think that I have ever gotten that kind of mileage.

Tell me what you don't like about the Ram....

I absolutely love my 2020 Longhorn Crew Cab. Two things and probably the only two things that I miss from my Silverado would be the ability to retract the mirrors from the remote and it would be nice if the heated seats were split so you could turn on just the seat or just the back separately...

    HD with Gasoline I6

I’m not pushing GMC/Chevy by any means however you may like this article to view Chevy’s line of thinking for an inline 6 for the older Trailblazer engine. I had one and the darn thing ran very well and if nobody told you (and if you couldn’t hear the engine or exhaust) you would have thought it...

I didn’t see the longer wheel to wheel retractable on the website as I was building my many versions of the 2500 Yes on the 18” in wheels. Thats the way I ordered my LL.

    2500 interior vs 1500 interior

I searched up to 500 miles for a 2500 in stock. I either had no luck finding one equipped how I wanted or they were charging premium fees on top of sticker. Most f the time the premium fees weren’t revealed until I placed a phone call to the dealer. Since I currently drive a 1500 Longhorn I...

    HD with Gasoline I6

I just ordered a 2500 last week. I didn’t want diesel. Although it’s going to be a tow vehicle it’s also going to be a daily driver and I saw no need to have a diesel to run to the store or other short trips around town. And then there’s that $10K extra cost!

    2500 Order placed

I originally was going to get a Laramie but the Trailer Reverse Guidance, Surround View Camera System and the Trailer Surround-View Camera System we’re unavailable on that model and since I’m buying this for towing I couldn’t see not getting those options. One thing I discovered after I ordered...
