I was towing a camper similar to yours 4500lbs dry with my 1500 crew with 3.21 6k loaded up it towed great everywhere I went.
I have the equalizer wd hitch with 4point sway control it works perfectly even in heavy winds never had more than a slight bit of sway. I just upgraded my camper to a...
Yeah these trucks are pretty capable I pick up my new camper Friday, having the furrion backup / observation camera installed so I can see behind the camper while driving. Looking forward to many trips all over with this setup. I use an equalizer wd hitch with sway control and it works perfectly.
I have the 3.21 I tow my camper all over the place with it. No issues at all anywhere I've been. My current camper is only 4500 lbs dry but I did just upgrade to a bigger camper that weighs 5700 dry and I'm not even a little worried about towing it...
This happens sometimes, it's happened to me in 3 different vehicles. I know you said you've had other issues with the truck, what else have you had go wrong with it
Ooh man I would have been so pissed I got mine from Mavis also and no issues, I would not go there for anything else but sheesh who orders 3 tires? Did they order you another one?
Had both at different times, got a great deal on the falkens about 6 months ago at the local tire shop stock size. The k02 were great but did wear pretty fast at least on my truck, only got 30k miles out of them and they were loud.
I was ok with the noise because I knew they would be loud. The...
I went with the falken wildpeak at3w
great looks and performance in all weather including deep snow and ice. I chose them because of the great reviews on this forum and my local tire shop was having a sale on them at the time. There are lots and lots of really good tires and you are going to...
That's a lot of miles, I've had my truck a little more than a year and I've put about 15k on it. I don't have a long commute to work though and the kids activities are mostly in town lol
I agree, prices are crazy on trucks now. My truck is similar to that one but with many more options. Pre covid I spent 27k out the door. It's a 19 classic cc hemi long box and it had only 12k on it. But with the chip shortage/covid/ everything else going on its worth 36-38 in my area. With 26000...
I'll sell you mine for the low low cost of.........50k lmao.
On a more serious note i got lucky when I was looking last yr and found a nice one that was the color I wanted at a dealership 40 miles from my house. They're out there just not as common as the shorter bed trucks.
I guess I'm old school, I got my truck a year ago and got a great deal it's an slt not a tradesman but it's not fancy by any means. It serves it's purpose ( towing my camper) my only requirements were hemi, crew cab and 4x4. I live in the snow belt lol.
Yup, love my 19 classic it was a little confusing trying to find parts at first till I understood that it was the same as the older trucks and not every vendor lists the classic in the description. Haven't had any issues since buying mods or upgrades
Same setup I have pretty much exactly I tow my 24 ft TT which weighs 4500 dry prob around 6 k loaded and ready for camp I have stock size tires and no issues with temps or anything really I'd say shouldn't be an issue. Happy camping!
Pros: looks nicer, in my opinion anyways. More desirable for perspective buyers if selling privately. Technically an upgrade from stock.
Cons: ride will suffer a little but not too bad depending on if you use standard load tires or LT tires
Replacing the 20s when they wear out will...
I would think the dealership would want them to help them sell it for more money but I guess from the responses that logic is flawed if I'm looking at two trucks at a dealership and they are very similarly equipped and close mileage wise I know I would prob go for the one with a complete service...
Ok, that's good info to have thanks for your replies. I prob will sell privately when the time comes. Hopefully the only records I'll have are oil changes and brakes lol
I know keeping service records is generally a good practice but wondering how it will effect trade in value at the dealership when the time comes. Basically how much more will I be able to squeeze out of them if I have them vs not.
I know I would probably be willing to pay a little more for a...
Funny enough I have mine set at 38 also 275/60/20 p rated I put 200 lbs of sandbags in the bed for a little more traction. Absolutely great in the snow so far.
Also have the wildpeaks they are fantastic in snow it's like normal driving I have not even spun the tires are n the snow we have had in the last couple days.
Definitely true since I bought my truck in March I've spent around 3 k in upgrades so far. It's addicting and really fun to take something and make it better or more unique.
imo chrome bumpers and grill are what works the best I added the chrome looking running boards but that's about the limit for chrome for me. Some chrome but not overdone.
I've seen guys with chrome accents on every possible area of their trucks, not for me but I'm not the one driving it so no...
