We have the same head engineer that designed your 5.7 Hemi designing the new 3.0 SSTHO. The hemi is an outdated good engine that needs to be replaced. I wanted my dog to live forever but it got old and died. Just like the hemi. Time to move on.
The 2006 300C with MDS that I used to own has almost 400,000KMs (just shy of a quarter million miles) and has never been opened. I see it on the road regularly.
I have yet to hear or read of a bad 3.0 SST in the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer trims. Yes I have heard of many bad Hemis. After 13 great...
2022 Ram Limited eTorque, loaded long box with 3:92 gears. Over 47574 miles I averaged 16.56 MPG US. I idle alot while on the computer and phone. Some trailering and loaded miles. This includes Canadian winters. I always use the cheapest gas I can find because I am cheap! LOL
Premium fuel is recommended for the SST HO but is not required. The SST does get better fuel mileage than the Hemi. Of course the HO doesn't. Why would anyone expect the extra horse power for no extra fuel? The Hurricane Jeep engines have been great. Tell me which straight six engine is a bad...
My dealer ordered me a 24 loaded Limited that I don't need to take if I wanted a 25. I am waiting on a 25 Tungsten. The Hurricane engine is proven. I trust it before a Hemi 6.4 and yes I have owned them as well. In fact I've owned 13 5.7 and 6.4 Hemis from 2006 to 2022.
I've owned 6 different Longhorn and Limited models but I ordered a new Tungsten. My dealer had ordered a 2024 Limited for me but I decided not to take it. One determining factor was the discount for fleet in Canada is considerable smaller on a 24 than on a 23 or 25. I guess Ram thinks people...
I have driven almost a million kms on Hemi 1500s. Eight new ones starting in 2007. I have owned all 3 ratios and trasmissions. I only order 3:92s now because of towing capacity and drivability. Some 3:21s will tend to hunt for the proper gear at certain speeds depending on 5,6 or 8 speed. At...
I have or do own 12 hemi powered vehicles. Including a 19, 21 and 22 DT 1500, all with etourqe. I don't want another non-etorque 5.7L. There is a lot of fear because of misinformation. Yes, including on these forums.
I would never buy a truck without eTorque because non eTorque trucks use an alternator! Imagine having to repair and pay for alternators out of warranty! Guess no one has ever done that yet except me! Ok OK, I'll go back to my desk and get back to work.....;)
On 2022 models, eTorque does shut off the engine before the truck is completely stopped. That is the way they work for 22 but not previous years. eTorque uses the generator to "bumpstart" the engine rather than using the 12 volt starter during stop/start. It is a very simple system that doesn't...
The 10th anniversary option lists "Premium quilted leather trimmed seats". As soon as they list it in the package it indicates the seats are different. When I ordered mine I was well aware of the cloth inserts. It was all over the internet in videos before you could order these trucks. If a...
I'm on my third eTorque Limited. Had a 19, 21 and now the 22. eTorque has almost zero effect on mileage on the highway. The 22 stop start operates differently as well. It will shut the truck off while still rolling instead of waiting for a full stop. eTorque does make for smoother shifts and...
Interesting. The wipers quit today on my 3 day old 22 Limited. I noticed the wipers were noisy when I picked it up. The sales girl took a video for the service dept. I am expecting the motor as well.
I'm on my 4th Limited with air suspension. Number 5 is on order. I drive a lot of miles and haul the occasional heavy load (overloaded). It works great for what I do but it isn't the answer for you. Buy the regular suspension and lift it. The air system was improved starting in 2019 but I have...
Some cameras need to be recalibrated after the windshield replacement. The 2019 Limited is self calibrating but many older models aren't. My 06 Chrysler 300C Heritage needed recalibrating after windshield replacement. I would ask if they did the recalibration.
I didn't think you had a case until I read this. https://www.mopar.com/content/dam/mopar/pdf/warranty/mopar_parts_accessories_warranty_statement.pdf Parts warranty usually applies if the actual part that was replaced fails not associated parts.
Dealer has no idea. It seems Canada is always last on the list. My nephew is waiting on 5th gen 1500 truck ordered in February that is now moved to a 2022. I am still waiting on a Jeep SRT from February but am told they won't build it. So I ordered a Durango Hellcat about a month ago. Getting...
Sorry to hear of your troubles. I had the tailgate issue on my 19 but none of the other issues. If the tailgate didn't drop automatically it was due to pressure on the tailgate not allowing the catch to release. Since you hear the electric solenoid I think you may have the same issue. If you...
The ET system uses a 48 volt lithium battery behind the rear seat. It is charged by the ET generator which also charges a conventional 12 volt battery that uses a conventional starter to cold start. The auto stop/start feature uses the ET generator to start during stop start.
I spend close to $9000 a year on fuel for my Ram Limited. If I drove an eco-box instead, I could save about half of that but wouldn't get my work done. I'll drive the Ram. The secondary vehicle is a 21 Grand Cherokee SRT. Again I could drive something fuel efficient and save about $750 a year...
