On these years of hemi. The transmission cooler is a separate deal. It sits right in front of the ac condenser. Its 100% separated from any engine coolant. They did that to avoid cross contaminating, if that where to happen. Never understood why some vehicles have it routing into the radiator...
The tranny temp won't change with a lower thermostat. Its all independent on these trucks. The transmission oil doesn't run into the radiator, oil temp i don't think would change either.
KBB is good. banks at least here in Utah, use NADA to determine a vehicles value. The problem with vehicles as you know. They depreciate and the big tires and lifts don't add value in my opinion. That's money you're not going to get back. The rust isn't a big deal. As long as there is no...
Drain the oil
Remove the pan
Replace gasket( add RTV to corners)
Install pan again
Get bolts lightly snugged
Torque bolts in a star pattern( not sure what the Torque specs are)
Then in a row
Fill to 7 quarts.
Also not sure if you have to remove anything. It doesn't look like anything...
Mine started doing this about 8 months ago. After about 15-20 min of driving. I start to get hot air. But until then, its just warm. But on my passager side vents, its always hot. Its just my driver side vents I have the warm air then hot after 15-20. I'm thinking it's a blend door not opening...
I'm not 100% on that bro. Hopefully some one else comments. There is some really knowledgeable guys on here. If you can also post pics. I'm sure that will help alot too.
Was the engine running fine before? Or are you suspecting something is out of time. If the engine was running fine before, get your marks lined up. And go for it man.
Oil looks burnt? What does that mean? I know oil changes color but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. Are you running 5W-20 or 5W-30? It shouldn't matter what your running. But id double check your connections on the new sensor. Or maybe the sensor itself is bad. Try another one
When you mean it fades, like it feels what? From my understanding, you don't get brakes until half way too the floor? I'm gonna guess you did this, but I'm gonna ask. Did you properly bleed the brakes after replacing the hoses, and master cylinder?
Swap out, swap in to me would be quicker and easier then a rebuild. Rebuild will/might be cheaper, just more time consuming. Pick your battle, price out your options.
With all the things you wanna do. It sounds like you want power gains. If its just taking you hunting, fishing etc. Just my opinion, I'd keep her going until she's on her last leg. Unless she's there. Put another hemi into it, 4.56 gears with lockers and 37s. Your set man. She will take you...
If the suspension is stock. That's kinda the nature of the beast, like you already know. I'd say take a leaf out from the rear, but that will obviously affect payload. Also not sure how much that would soften the ride up, maybe not enough to make a difference. What PSI are your tires At? That...
I have the 5.7. When I'm in O/D off, so 3rd gear. Doing 70 ( 60 mph on my speedo), my RPMs are at 2600. I have 3.55 gears in mine, I want 4.56, but thats not in the budget right now. Glad you like them. If I don't put it in O/D off. 4th and 5th are to low and she hunts like a mofo. 3rd is...
...... I mean no disrespect. But your driving a 5.7 V8........V8. I average 11.5MPG. there should never be a MPG worry on a truck forum. Again, I mean no disrespect. Just being honest. Hope your MPG goes up man.
So in short, either buy a 2003-2008 5.7 hemi. Or if your feeling adventurous and your feeling like you can take a lot names and kick some serious ass. Do the swap and enjoy something you put hard work into. Good luck man
If its not broke, don't fix it. I wouldn't worry about the valve springs and seats, cam or lifters. Iv got 128,??? On mine, and no issues. The one thing I would worry about. What hurts vehicles the most is not driving them. All the seals get dry, and things aren't moving. Then you get the truck...
