1st Travel Trailer for my Ram 2500
Only read OP post and the first reply to which is 100% correct!! I towed TT 's for several yrs with a 1/2 ton Ram, 5.7. The last being a 33 ft Keystone 2 slide, approx 7500 lbs. Soft covers - theft a problem?
I have used Tri-Fold soft cover for yrs. Over 10 to be exact. First what expensive "valuables" does the average person carry in a pick up bed? Second is a hard cover really all that much secure? I mean think about it..Truck cabs are broke into every day!!! Surely a $1500-$2000+ hard cover can be...- Tunaman

Would you run Michelins anymore? Or any tire that uses recycled plastic?
I voted no more because while MICHELINS are great tires, they also are very over priced. Many tires last 50,000 miles, Any more than that considering how many times they have rotated flexing each revolution in my mind you're asking for problems. -

I'm # 100k with this issue yeeeeeah
It’s a 22, how do you know you went for better reliability?? I mean you say RAM lies about the 5.7 but then turn around and believe them when they say the 3.6 lasts for ever!!!! Towing Camping Trailer
Yes, in my opinion. I had a 2018, RAM, identical set up. Towed a Passport TT. 7100lbs. empty. About a ton loaded!! Had a load leveler hitch set up so the trailer sat level, truck dropped maybe a couple inches max! This it the trick..get that trailer level and truck just barely drop in rear...- Tunaman

$2200 transmission service?
Seems funny to me, some people, me included will work 3 days to make $1600 but will trade their vehicle before they work 2 hrs changing tranny fluid to save $1600. Not only that but Chevy's are ugly!!- Tunaman

Shopping for tires
The WHEELS are an inch and a half taller but I bet the tires after mounting aren't an inch taller. The 17" tires will have more sidewall making the ride smoother than the 20". -

Oil filter fell off!!
This is why the dealer does EVERY oil change on my truck. # 1 thats about the only service a dealer does thats comparable to what the oil, filter and disposal costs me by the time I figure my time, gas to parts store and oil disposal etc. And like someone else said, if the plug falls out of...- Tunaman

The drivetrain in my 2020-7.3 Godzilla gasser is identical to my son-in-laws 2020- 6.4 diesel with the exception of the engine itself. The jury is still out but local thinking is the added torque (almost double) hast how much affect on the transmission recalls and breakdowns he has had opposed...- Tunaman

Don't know if my dad could of beat your dad or not but...My truck the diesel is $10,000 + more than the gasser I have. Forget oil changes being twice on the diesel along with a few other things. Towing my 5th wheel 70 or better I gat about 7 MPG. Kinda stinks right? With the diesel lets say I...- Tunaman

From the issues I've been seeing thats a tough question. All I know is my current truck is the 7.3 Godzilla gas, it towed great and for a 3/4 ton I don't call the fuel mileage bad. Guess thats not much of an answer....NEVER diesel for me.- Tunaman

Obviously I was being sarcastic with the 200,000 mile remark...but maybe not.But the subject isn't oil changes, very few dispute the importance of that. I've owned vehicles for 55 yrs, probably longer than most here. The first 18 yrs in Maine where it gets down below -20 many times every winter...- Tunaman
