Having had the GMC now for several days now, I have to say that GM really nailed it with this one. It really is very comparable to my Ram Limited, albeit a bit smaller. I love being able to actually turn into a parking space, the ride is way nicer than I was expecting and the attention to detail...
There's no question that it doesn't ride as nice as the Ram, but I am really impressed with the ride given it's a mid-sized truck, and it does ride really nice.
Nothing, and I will really miss that truck. As I mentioned earlier, my wife would not drive my big-a$$ Ram, and we are down to 1 vehicle now. So, the compromise was a bit smaller vehicle, but it had to be a truck - so I went with this one and I really like it.
No 5.3. That will take some adjustment - the 4-banger has impressive HP and torque, but it's still a 4-banger. I think they tried to make the exhaust growl a little, but I have to admit, I wish it was just quiet. No way to make a 2.7 sound aggressive unless it's one of those little rice-burners...
CROSS POSTED
Well, I retired on December 31st. and my wife and I decided we didn't need all of these vehicles as she works from home. So, the cars just sit in the garage and cost us money while they depreciate. So... she refuses to drive my Ram (said it's too big), and I have to have a truck...
Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I had the tire replaced the next day, and I did my own cabin filter swap earlier this year. Unfortunately for the few honest dealers out there, this kind of stuff is precisely why almost all car dealers are lumped into the "bottom feeder" category.
Took my truck in for 30,000 mile service last week. When the service writer told me all the stuff they wanted to do I about s**t myself. I told him to only change the oil and give an itemized list, with price of what they wanted to do. I have no problem following the prescribed services, but...
Mine just started this yesterday. I have had the truck for two years and never a problem. I finally gave up at Costco and will try a different gas station on the way home today.
I live in Texas, so it's hot! When I'm sitting at a stoplight or just idling, the fan sounds like a jet engine ramping up. It's normal - these pigs run hot!
