Buy another motor if you don’t want to **** with what you got now.

Only reason you'd "get attacked" is if your unspoken/untyped question was how to do a non-Mopar engine swap lol....but it would help if you ACTUALLY asked the question

Sorry about that completely forgot it’s been a long day, I’d love a 6.1 swap but they’re pretty rare down in fl, however I’d be open to suggestions or opinions

Well, for starters you have a 2005, so you're covered so far as tunability. How deep 1) do you wanna get into it & 2) are your pockets lol? You could stroke your stock engine, you could drop in a 6.1, you could stroke a 6.1, skies the limit depending on how deep into it you wanna/can get.

Ok, so on the cheap. P&P + BV your stock heads (or get a set done) and cam it, get it tuned (since you'd have to custom tune it anyway you can get that EGR turned off in the tune). Headers and Y pipe if you don't already have them. Voilà!

With that you'd probably still be ok with the RFE not crapping out on you

Yup that seemed to be the best rout, already got headers and x pipe, how likely am I to need a complete rebuild because of this?

Of the valve dropping
Ah, you said lifter in the first post, hence my confusion. Depending on how much carnage it caused, best case scenario scored cylinder wall you can get it bored and rebuilt. Worst case scenario it REALLY gouged a cylinder wall and it isn't worth saving the block. Might be better off getting a long block or even a short block and you can put the heads and cam in you want and just drop it in. f8baa073a9d868d7d0cc78ad89bdfcc3.jpg

You gotta get an idea of what damage is actually done first. Most damage is repairable, depending on your skill level, local machine shop's ability and your pocket book. Just telling us you want it cheap doesn't help. To some 2 grand is not worth it, others can drop 6 grand and not think anything of it.
