Hi everyone,

2017 Ram 1500 4x4 has an awful squeaking sound located in the front passenger side. After checking suspension, wheel bearings and all the other components. My diagnosis indicates the strut leveling spacer. After removal of the strut, you can observe damage to the top of the strut and unusual bore damage to the spacer. What caused this and how can I remedy this issue? For the past 6 years my truck did Not have issues annd I really like the level look. The spacer itself is about 1 1/2” Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated!

That’s one of many reasons why spacer levels suck. You need a lifted strut like Bilstein 5100 or 6112

Happens every time, since it’s been 6 years it’s time to upgrade. Bilstein and Eibach are the most cost effective bang for buck. You’ll need new top hats but honestly I would recommend reaching out to @Nick@GotExhaust for the next step up into coil over world. The ride will be night and day better

Those spacers are the cause, very common issue with them. Time for a real leveling setup or go to some coil overs. Lets talk about how you plan to use the truck and we can recommend some proper options!

The extra length of the spacer causes the upper spring seat to wobble. The washer on the top of the damper rod is then able to hit the spacer. The worn 6 year old rubber bushings are not helping either. Go with the extended strut or other options recommended by Nick. He has a very good reputation around here and he ain't going to mess that up by selling you unsuitable junk.
