Just got my 2022 RAM 3500 CC Big Horn (took about 10 weeks from order). When moving my aftermarket trailer backup camera and aftermarket GPS I noticed that they stay on after the truck is turned off. This is correct according to the RAM manual. So they will draw down the battery unless unplugged or otherwise turned off manually. What a pain. And there seems to be only one 12V outlet, vs two in my old 2014 Big Horn. I will have to wire up a connection to 12V that is turned off when the ignition is turned off. Can someone suggest to me how to locate a convenient connection point, fed by a well chosen fuse, without having to run wire all the way to the fuse box?

Owner manual says:
 F91 Fuse 20 A Yellow Instrument Panel Power Outlet Ignition Fed (If Equipped)  F93 Fuse 20 A Yellow Cigar Lighter/ Instrument Panel Power Outlet (If Equipped)

Move Fuse 93 over to 91 slots and you will have a 12v power outlet that turns off when the ignition is turned off.

Thanks, that was truly the right info for the situation. For my particular truck, it was move the fuse from F90 to F91, which meant moving it within a 3-prong holder. It took me quite a while to find the socket locations, as the manual has no diagram of the locations, and the diagram printed under the fuse box cover was extremely difficult to access. That lid is on a hinge but doesn't flip up as far as 90 degrees. I wish one could pop it off the hinge. I had to read it sort of from below, with a high intensity flashlight to compensate for the sunlight falling in my face.

Thank you John Jensen. I was just going thru the same issue. Out in the stores looking for a switched 12 v outlet. I have my Garmin GPS and My travel trailer rear camera plugged into that one outlet. I needed them to shut off with the ignition. So I started to post on this awesome forum and there was the answer before I even posted. I was ready to rewire the whole frigging truck. Thank You. Fixed it in 30 seconds!

Hey could you elaborate for me? Im in the same boat. One 12v outlet on the dash. I checked the fuse box and there are fuses in 90/91 and 92. Nothing in 93 and isn’t wired up. Not sure what to do. 2022 Ram 3500 Bighorn 6.7l

Use 90/91 to change the 12v outlet to ignition on/off. If the fuse is in the 90 slot, just slide it to the 91 slot or vice versa

I take a picture of the fuse diagram with my phone so I can zoom in and read it when needed. Do the same things for labels I find too small to read.

I've got the 2021 Bighorn 1500 eTorque. I went to make the change and my fuse box setup is nothing like this one.

The HD trucks have not fully migrated to Gen5 vehicle architecture like the 1500s.

I assume by HD you mean Heavy Duty (which mine surely is not). As usual, I'm confused. So this fix does not apply to the 1500's? If not, is there a fix for the 1500's? Or am I misunderstanding this? (I've been a Ram owner for a very brief time.)

That is correct that the above fix only works on the 2500/3500 trucks.
It doesn't apply the Gen5 1500 as they were redesigned for '19, there's now two fuse boxes, one of which is under the dash.

It looks like it might be 54B in the under-the-dash fuse box.

Can confirm that it's the 20amp fuse in 54a/b. Default it's in left/middle. use the fuse puller from the engine box (or whatever you'd like) and swap it to middle/right. I cannot verify the lower plug in the cubby, but the top-of-dash plug is now ignition based and not always on. this is how it should have been from factory in my opinion. at least there's an option i guess.
