Built myself a set of upper and lower control arms similar to Core 4x4 tier 4.
1 7/8” x 5/16 dom tube with Currie Johnny joints on both ends.

Only did a test drive around the block a couple times but noticeable difference than oem. Rear end feels “lighter” but more stable with less lateral feedback when only one side hits a bump.

Well thank you sir! Much appreciated. It’s all practice, practice and more practice.

2.5 OD Johnny joint Part # CE-9110P-26
Mounting width is 2.625”
Bolt diameter is 5/8” (16mm)
I went with the 1”-14tpi for the rod ends to work with 1.25 od weld bungs.

Phucking awesome dude, so all 4 sides are the same 2.625" mouting width with 5/8 bolt diameter?
Are you using the factory bolts as well or did you go aftermarket ?

Yessir all 4 are the same. The mounting flanges do open up to about 2.75 but I just stuck with the same size as oem. Factory bolts, I would like to add some grade 8 for funzies but going to hold off for now.

Pulled rear seat and installed 25sqft of 50mil killmat sound deadening. Made the prototype platform for the rear seat along with a 50w dometic fridge. Also got the TJM seat covers installed.

Do you still have the oem wheel liners? I wonder if you split them down the center length wise and fill that with a strip to make up for the flared bedside? Not that this won't work well as is but mud likes to find it's way into every nook possible....i hate mud lol

Your tires rub on your bedsides pretty good? Surprised since you have pretty decent offset. After I finish this xj I really want my truck to get up to yours and ram 1500s level.

They got trashed after I spent a couple hours trying to get them to fit without success.

Only during certain off camber maneuvers where the truck gets full droop/bump in the rear. I’m sure the 12.7 wide tires are the main culprit. Going to paint over those areas to see how often it’s making contact.

I still have a long way to go to get it where I want it, my bank account disagrees tho.

Yea I'm sure the pics are deceiving with the new shape of the flared metal. The new ones are coming along and will work better thsn the nothing that was in there before!

I guess I'm just surprised since it looks like you have a pretty good negative offset, but than again you use your truck to an extreme that most don't even consider so a chubby sidewall will find stuff to touch at extremes.

The bank account will never agree with our hobbies. The truck and jeep will be the death of my income.

Taken from the website these wheels have a -5mm offset and backspacing is 4.75mm. I don’t know much when it comes to offset/backspacing these are what the tire shop I use suggested.I’ve been meaning to do the @ram1500rsm spec alignment to add the caster and hopefully correct the front from rubbing on the well liner but haven’t followed through yet.
The bank account never will agree with our project vehicles but the finance companies absolutely love us.

If you wanted to avoid the paint from coming off you could perhaps try a 1/2" bumpstop but that rubbing doesn't seem bad at all. wheel spacer can also help but i don't think that rubbing will do anything bad.

Caster in the front will help you out with any rubbing at the back of the liner as the wheels would literally move forward a little bit.

I spent some time looking at the inner sidewalls and couldn’t see any signs of wear which would be my only concern. If it ever does become an issue I’ll go with extending the bump pad.

Random thought of the day....instead of an entire new rack, can you make/get a ramp for the dog. In my head and looking at my truck which is about the same height at the bed rail, I wonder if something similar to those aluminum atv loading ramps would get the dog close enough to the tent it could jump in.

The ramps are a good idea and something I need to look into. for this weekend I'm thinking ill set up next to a buddies truck and use his bed to lift the dog into the tent
