Kevin,
thanks for posting this. I was reading this thread this morning thinking....god i hope he didn't order this. 13.5" wide tires would never fit with that wheel

Oddly enough, I woke up and was wide awake in the middle of the night so I thought I'd get on and see what goes on in the middle of the night. I'm actually surprised I said something halfway intelligent. LOL

because you got rims with less backspacing than stock....we are saying it will never fit on the truck...not the wheel....LOL

Right. I didn't know they made a 13.5" width for a 33" tire but that BS wouldn't work with a rim that wide. In order to get a BS to clear a 13.5" wide tire, those tires are going to be WAY out there.

Also, 8.5 is the minimum width. That makes it suitable for a street queen, but not for offroad. That's why I have two sets of rims/tires. My pretty street queen set and my ugly pitted up offroad set.

Discount Tire told me with a wider rim you should get a little better ride, don't know if that's all that true or not. Sounds good in theory I guess.

That's one of those "depends on the sidewall" kind of deals. Short of running multiple tire configurations on the same rim, it's hard to know how different tires will react. Generally speaking, too wide and/or narrow of a rim and the tire will pop off the bead under abuse.

Thankfully I waited to pull the trigger. I can't even order that size tire because its not part of pro comp's buy 3 get one free deal.

with the specs on that wheel i know you can fit 285's, and maybe 295's. If you want wider tires you will need to find a wheel with less backspacing.

I likey! You are lucky you live there in the desert, can get a more aggessive tire and not have to deal with this snow and ice ****.

Plus you just have endless places to go explore.

Might want to get some mud flaps or flares for that ride!

Thanks fellas.

Idk do fender flares or flaps do anything for dust? My truck is covered in it. I was tearing it up with the traction control off today. freaking mayhem! lol I actually had to use 4 wheel drive to get out of the sand. Ive never used it before for that, thoroughly impressed by it.

Im def gonna to need the bilstein 5100s first b/c I can hear the rubbing when I drive out my garage.
