Hey there,

I have a 1988 W100 Manual 4sp (pretty sure it's a NP435), this morning I reversed out of the driveway and when I went to put it in gear there were no gears to be found. Wouldn't come out of reverse but the shifter just flopped around. There was no loud noises or any leakage from the underside. Got our 1991 W250 Cummins to push it back into the driveway since it was too slippery in the morning to push it back into the driveway (in Alaska). Drove the truck all day the day before no problems, has never slipped. Was looking around and there seems to be a few things people have said may help, what do you think?

-Replacing the retainer and/or retaining cap
-Prying the shift forks
-Checking the C Clip or Cotter Pin
-Shifter bushing and/or cable
