1998/1997 frame swap question

Good day,
My father has a 1997 1500 single cab 2wd and a 1998 1500 Extended Cab 2wd. The question is are we able to swap the 98 frame out for the 97?
Another idea: 98 frame is rusted right out in different areas. My father is a welder/fabricator and was also thinking of fixing the 98 frame. Would it be wiser to swap or fix the 98 frame?

I’m pretty sure the cab mounts would be different between them given one is a single and one is a quad. Also is the 97 a 6’ bed or 8’ bed? Sometimes you can find decent rollers at the junkyard. Or at least I used to be able to for my 97 before I sold it. Was planning on doing a frame swap to that one as well due to frame rot
