So I think I messed up my timing by possibly 1 tooth. My question is once I get everything taken off and Im looking at the chain and gears, what do I do to get my timing back to perfect? I originally had a leak in the timing cover gasket and I figured I'd just replace the chain since it was really lose on one side. My mistake was that instead of cranking the original gears back so the dots lined up before it took it off, I instead took the gears off right where the were and put the new ones back the same way. I did turn it and the dots eventually did line up but I think its off a bit. I have had 1.) horrible gas milage, 180 miles to a full tank, 2.) a pinning/tick noise when i get on the gas 3.) when I get on the highway, truck is a dog and can't get out of its own way. I know there was a gauge for TDC setting but not sure what exactly I need to do. Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance
I also did cap, rotor, plugs, wires, O2 sensor, head gaskets, Manifold gaskets Cloyles chain & Hughes perf. plenum
