Time for new tires on my 2020 1500 Tradesman 4x4. My current stock combination is 275/60/20 tires on OEM 20x8 19mm off set wheels. I would like to keep the wheels and up the tire size to 295/65. I have done a comparison on TireSize.com and the sidewall only moves closer to the UCA by .4", currently the clearance is 1.125" . I prefer to stay away from spacers. Is this workable?

The day I drove my 2021 Ram 1500 Express 4x4 out of the showroom it went to the tyre shop on the way home and had 295 tyres fitted. It came with 20x8 18P wheels with 275/60/20 tyres. I took them off and fitted 18x9 18P American Outlaw Legacy rims and 295/70/18 tyres. I can still get the tips of my fingers between the tyres and the UCA's. With 8" rims the sidewalls will be slightly further away from the UCA than they are with my 9" rims of the same 18P offset.

I did get it lifted 2" rear and 3" front at the same time but that shouldn't make much difference to the UCS clearance.

What I can tell you is the 9" rim with 295 tyres is slightly too wide for the stock front guards unless you have front wheel arch flares. The tread stick out maybe 1/4" past the flat side of the guard. It'll be slightly better with 8" rims of the same offset.

Good to know. I plan on Bilstein 5100's @ 2.1 and a 1.5 or 2 inch body lift also. I think I'll go for it.
