Good for you! It's a crew cab as opposed to a quad? I didn't know you could get a pentastar with the crew!
...
I average about 20% better than that tank to tank with my minivan motor.

Yes, Crew cab with 4x4. $43,990 msrp, paid $31,240 after discount and rebates.

Drove 400 miles yesterday mixed town, country road and interstate (at 80mph). Average for the trip was 22. not even broken in yet. I was happy. My daughter's '96 Tahoe got only 10-11 mpg on the highway.

I'll say if they had the EcoDiesel in the 2019's that would have been my choice. Didn't want to wait another 6 months.

Not sure about the 19 5th gen, but I thought my previous 13 ram 1500 CC 4x4 v6/8spd 3.21 was fantastic. Here are some of my posts about it...

I just traded in my 2013 Ram 1500 SLT 4x4 CC with v6/8spd/3.21 in May on a 2018 1500 Laramie w/v8/8spd/3.21...

The v6 was a fantastic truck for me and I had zero issues with it after 4 years and 40k miles. Great gas mileage.
Hauled an apartment's worth of stuff with it fully loaded and a 5x8 enclosed trailer out back from VA to Indiana, then here to SC, no problem. Hauled my 68 mustang on a 6x12 uhaul car hauler fromv storage in VA over the mountains to SC doing 70mph without issue. Sure the v6 has to hit higher Revs, but that's what it's designed to do. Plus the 8 speed helps it out quite a bit.

Only reason I traded it was because my son started working at the local dealer down here and I got a great deal.

I know the fuel economy thing gets kicked around constantly here, but I'll eat my hat if there's a late model hemi Ram 1500 getting 25mpg tank to tank. I know at least 7 dudes with hemi 1500s. The best they do day to day, tank to tank (avg mpg over a WHOLE tank) is mid to high teens. With some trips averaging low 20s.

Exactly!

These stories about someone's 5,000 lbs. vehicle with a V8 getting 25 mpg are just that...stories. There are plenty of posters here on this forum that keep meticulous gas mileage records and I've yet to see 25 mpg out of a hemi with any kind of distance and real world driving.

While there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence about Hemi’s getting 20+ mpg, all one needs to do is check out Fuelly. For every 20 mpg, there’s a 10, with median being right around 16.

There are some crazy deals available on ‘18 Laramie EDs, but reading through the ED forum and the problems people are having makes take a hard pass.

I've been debating getting a new truck (upgrade my '06 Tundra Crew Cab). I do construction work (GC/remodeling), but never tow, so the Pentastar would be ideal (and a vast improvement in terms of power AND MPG over the wimpy 4.7 V8). I've been searching within 100 miles of me (Chicagoland), and there are only 65 Pentastars available and only 29 come with the longer bed, and NONE with crew cab! WTH - this is pathetic! I know the Pentasters became available only couple months ago, but come on! I really don't want to order and wait for the truck, but if the inventory doesn't improve, I don't think I'll have much choice (vent over).
Is there hope that more V6s will start showing up?

Really?? You ask guys on a forum this question?? Wow!!, how the hell would any of us know that?? ASK A DEALER

I'd say the 2020 model year will have more configurations to choose from.

Oh so close... Almost bought my new Ram today, but the purchase will have to wait.
Since V6 Big Horns are so scarce around here (Chitown), decided to look at Hemis with eTorque.
MSRP - $47,985 (4x4, CC, 5'7", Level 2 package). Agreed in principle on 6% below invoice (~$42K) - incentives ($8k - $6,500 available to everyone + $500 National Association of Realtors + $1K Truck owner conquest; I have the Penfed certificate as well, but they told me it doesn't stack with all other incentives).
Total $34,500 + TTL.
They take my truck ('06 Tundra Limited w/ 153K miles) to be "appraised" and find out (through Autocheck), the truck had prior accident with airbag deployment AND frame damage (accident in '06, frame damage discovered at auction in '08). I'm like - you've got to be f-ing kidding me! When I bought the truck 5 years ago, the Autocheck the (Acura) dealer provided showed NOTHING! Of course, they wanted nothing to do with my truck, so I decided to postpone the purchase until I sell the truck privately (with proper disclosure, of course).
