Well was headed out to go off-roading. On a highways cruising about 50 my truck wouldn’t shift out of 4th. I slowed stopped and took back off 1st straight to 4th. Trans temp was 150. Drove again stopped turned truck off. 1st 2nd 3rd and so on all was good. Temp 167-170 ran fine since. Everything was good. No codes. Guess I’ll keep eyes out for a bit. Anything come to mind?

Usually that means the solenoid pack is bad. It's not a hard job to DIY but you do need a scantool that can perform a quicklearn after it's replaced....

Does sound like solenoid issues. If I could have bought a new pack when mine went south, rest assured I would have. Woulda save me a $5k transmission. Mine being an EcoD was part of the parts issue.

Whatever it is, chances are it is in valve body/solenoid. Could have lost OD springs. Good time for a rebuild anyhow, a 2014 at this point should upgrade, assuming rfe?

All good still working normal. Truck has about 115-116k miles on it. I’ll prolly look I to the solenoid. I’d sure like it to mess up once more before I just replace it. I don’t like changing parts for no reason. I also have an extended warranty on it 3rd party. So I’ll see lol.

It's not for no reason, if you increase line pressure to take advantage of the new plate, it will make your transmission last longer...

These are must watch tv...

Mine stayed in just 4th gear when the solenoid pack went bad. CEL played games about staying on and randomly going off. But it does sound like a bad solenoid pack

My wife's Cherokee Overland had the solenoid go bad. Replaced it under warranty. A couple months later, had to replace it again....thankfully under warranty. Same deal. Sticks in 4th gear. It's a well known issue.
