1st post. new guy. bilstein installation

hello friends,

I am new to the site because I just bought my 1st ram 1500.

black 2015 Lonestar 4x4 5.7 hemi.

I just ordered the bilstein 5100's to raise the front end and I would like to know where I could get them installed. I don't have the time or know how to do them myself.

Could I get them installed like at a pepboys or any local shop or would I have to go to a 4x4 type shop?

Also, from what I have read on this forum, $300 or so would be a going price to have them installed with a wheel alignment?

I am from San Antonio by the way.

Call around and ask would be easiest. 300 with alignment seems fair maybe a little high imo. Alignments here are 100 for 4x4 and 90 an hour. I think it's roughly 2 hours of shop work. I'd try a local off road shop first

25 a shock is a steal, then alignment would be 50-70 after that. I would make sure they understand what you want them to do.. Cause most shops are 250-350 for install

I got my bilsteins installed today. It wasnt $25 a shock after all. It was $140 for the installation and $89 for the allignment.

It looks good to me. I didn't do any measurements before or after. I chose the 2.1 setting.

Go through Moe's. I got mine from there and it took two days to get to my house. And, if you have questions they can answer them for you, great service...

So this kit will not have any issues like "death wobble" or vibration in 4x4 hi like the ready lift disclaimer has on its level kit?

I got mine from 4wheelparts for $90 a piece with free shipping.

Some people have reported slight vibration at speed in four wheel drive after installing them on the max setting wich is 2.8. I set mine on 2.1 it leveled the truck perfectly and I have no vibration issues at all. Truck drives perfectly.

No such thing as death wobble on these half tons, only on the HDs (solid front axle). As for vibrations, you shouldn't have any issues whatsoever provided the shocks are installed correctly.

Where did you have them installed for $140 and $89 for alignment? I'm getting ready to install mine but for that price I will just pay the $140
