2 piece drive shaft problems???? HELP! asap

i have a 96 dodge ram with a 2 piece driveshaft and for some reason it shakes and iv gone through 4 carrier bearings in 3 weeks ........... what would cause this????? is it out of balence????

Sounds like it...it's possibly it slung a weight...have you crawled down there and inspected it at all?

yes and it has the weights on the one from the carrier bearing to the axle but i couldn find one on the one from the tranny to the carrier bearing. i cant find no place to buy a brand new rear drive shaft......atleast i cant find a 2 piece drive shaft....

is your truck a long bed mine dosent have a carrier i would suspect a dry ujoint at the carier or you could have new shafts built for a good chunk of money proablly about 500. when installing the new bearing dont beat it hard bust to use a press if its not going with only little efort sand to fit

check for ujoint play and check the yokes and the seal connecting to the trans

ok well i went to daves driveshafts in nashville and he told me it was 1/4in bent out of balence so i bought another lol at express auto salvage for 17 bucks and with new joints
