What 2nd gen do you actually have, since all I see is a 2018 on your profile.

I think you'll be surprised on prices, it's pretty much the opposite of what you stated.

Shaking could be a lot of things, tire balance or wear pattern, track bar, wheel bearings usually roar or grind, outer tie rods can cause a shake, usually while braking, etc.

At 167k... if nothing has been done... I'd probably replace every wear part on that axle, but that's me.

If a wheel bearing is bad, the tire is likely to exhibit small cups in the shoulder, all around the tire. "Worn smooth" suggests not a wheel bearing. Jack it up and get the weight off the wheel, then put a hand on top and on the bottom of the tire and push/pull on the tire to see if there is much play in the bearing. While jacked up, put a hand at 9 and 3 and push/pull to see if there's anything obviously worn on the linkage on that side.

I have a 2000 1500 now, had a 2018 2500 to move my HHG, and before that a 2001 2500. I rebuilt the 2001 whole front end, are the 2500 the same parts as the 1500?

thanks guys!

jacked it up, and wife shook the tire, was moving around on the wheel bearing.

pulled the center cap off, the center of the wheel bearing around the spindle nut was RUSTY, like it has been grinding for a while.

so I ordered a Wheel bearing, they were from $40 up to $300 for an OEM, i got a "recognizable brand" for $50

is 1 11/16 the right size socket for the Spindle nut?

tks guys

1 1/16 is the correct size of the nut. I hope you have an impact wrench to blast that rusty nut off with. When I did mine I broke 2 half inch drive ratchet wrenches, a 1/2 inch drive torque wrench and a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar. It never budged. Came right off with the impact.

Amazon showed the socket with the wheel bearing.

FWIW, the bearing did not fix the shake, so IDK.
