Hi all, What is the deal with the bed of my truck? At the cab (inside dimensions of bed) is 65 1/2" at the tailgate end 63". As far as I know the truck has never been hit. I am looking for a shell and not sure what to do at this point.

Thanks,
Steve

Totally normal.
Typically on trucks, the rear axle is several inches shorter/narrower than the front. This is done to increase stability and reduce the turning radius.
The body, AKA bed sides, are usually tapered (narrower at the rear) to “hide” the reduced rear track width. Otherwise the rear fenders would stick out past the tires much more than the front fenders.

Edit: as far as caps/toppers go, anything for a ‘94-‘01 with the same bed length as yours, should fit.
