Alright here's the run-down. On Tuesday the truck started sputtering and stopped as if it was out of gas. The problem is that it had a half tank. It was then started again and got about half a mile before it stopped for good. The fuel gauge doesn't seem to work now? I thought it was the fuel sender and offered to replace the original, but my parents don't like me working on our nicer vehicles so they had it towed to the shop. The shop believes it is something wrong with the anti-theft system but says they cant fix it. Anything else it could be that the shop wouldn't catch? I would like to fix this so my parents don't end up paying 1000$+ that could be spent on projects on our land. Thanks.

Check fuel pressure (should be 48-50psi0 and make sure you've got spark. To me it doesn't sound like a probelm with the security.

The fuel pump does not work, no power is going to it.

No fuel pump spinning-up is one clue. Can a scanner link-up to the pcm? Thats another clue to weather the pcm is bad. Check for spark, have it? Cool. Not, bad. If you jumper the fuel pump relay does it come on?

I'm thinking bad pcm?

Thats prob your issue. Little early to say bad pcm yet... Check wiring, grounds, make sure relay is working.
