My 2003 Ram 1500 4.7 runs and drives great for about approximately 7miles or so then just dies no warning, try and restart but only cranks, wait about 2 to 3 minutes and it restarts and might go a mile or so before it dies again, wait 2 to 3 minutes and restarts, longer I wait the farther it goes, replaced with new fuel pump and filter but still dies after a few miles, any suggestions, Recore

Not familiar with a 03. Doesn't sound like fuel problem but electrical. Something is overheating under the hood and falling but works when cool. Check all ignition system parts.

Have you verified battery isn't swollen and overheating? Sensor in battery tray measures batt temp, notorious for giving trouble, shuts truck down if detects battery overheat/fault, have battery checked/tested, also check codes and see if you see power fail code in ecm or battery disconnected code....could be bad ground to body causing ecm to "blink"

And one other, the monstrosity dodge calls the ignition SWITCH is also known for intermittent contact, not the key cylinder, the physical switch on bottom of steering column, 1st symptom is ac/heat blower working intermittently, easy and cheap to replace but open the old one and look at all those archaic finger contacts that belonged on the Nina pinta and santemaria with Columbus......good trucks but somebody really needs to strangle the design team
