2005 ambient air temp sensor

Anyone have a picture the ambient air temp sensor on a gen 3? Service manual says its bolted to the underside of the hood, but I don't see anything beside the hood lamp. No other wires running to the hood. I don't see anything resembling that sensor. All I can find is the sensor that went in the stock air box.

2002 it's on the underside of the hood, 03-08 on the driver's headlight. Aftermarket headlights don't have the cutout on the one screw hole for the sensor to mount. When I replaced mine I had to dremel that spot flat to match OEM.

Thanks for the photo. That's where I put my new sensor. My pigtail is shot though. That's today's project.

Did you have any troubles replacing with a damaged pig tail? I'm trying to replace mine after I hit a deer; not sure if I should just cut this and try to solder wires back? Any advice out there would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, my last Dodge Ram was a 2009
it had the ambient air temp sensor in the area in front of the radiator shroud, about 1/3rd of the way between to driver side headlight & the center of the grille.
It just hung there, i bought that truck New.

By the way, that sensor was accurate, unlike the ones mounted in the driver door mirror .
