I replaced my EGR valve yesterday on my 2007 1500 TRX4 5.7 Hemi. Anyhow, after codes are cleared out and everything is back to normal, I noticed a ticking/clicking sound coming from the engine compartment. Truck runs good, no codes.
Anyway, I got under the hood when I got home from work while ago and I've traced it down to the EGR routing tube that runs from the valve to the intake that has come loose at the intake end. Looks like there is a gasket on there that is pretty much gone at this point. No problem. I located the gasket at the auto parts store for $2.
I guess my question is this... does that little donut gasket just slide on the tube and then get mashed into the hole and held by the little clip, or do I have to do anything else/special? I'm getting ready to run to the store and pick up the gasket and want to be sure I get this thing sealed well. Also, on Auto Zone's website, they show two of those per vehicle. Yet, I've looked at a diagram of the parts and only see one per tube. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
